I totally get being able to fit and test shit for a first gen. But if you can find a buddy with a turd to test fit, there's probably a lot more cash to be tabbed. Good luck either way man

Gonna start working on aluminum door handles as soon as I get my new door handles so I can use the old ones as a model idea. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it so it’s just a slide and bolt in piece. But I defenitely will do my best and keep you all updated!

While you're doing aluminum door handles, how about one for the tailgate as well.

If you can machine the aluminum door handles might aswell throw the TRD logo on and maybe anodized colors. That would kick ass.

I’d buy a custom camper like one of these Maltec Campers below.

Except aluminum instead of carbon fiber and $10-$20k instead of $70k.

Goddamn that sent me down a rabbit hole. Here’s what I’ve been dreaming of building, heavily inspired by gfc:

That’s kinda like a wildernest. Sweet regular cab too!

Check out the AEV Jeep Outpost 2. Tommy campers on YouTube is one of my favorites. I’d buy one in a second if they were here.
Or search Ute tray slide in canopy camper for lots of Australian ideas.

@otis24 yeah I like the wildernest but I love the side access of the gfc and would prefer the tent unfold over the truck for a smaller form factor. Looks like their Tacoma models fold backwards. I do want the standing space the wildernest provides, so I think I could probably build something to combine the two.

Lots of potential one off features that wouldn’t make sense in production could be possible...

Haven’t decided if I should just replace the bed or not, this is my daily after all. No idea when I’ll have the capability/time to make this happen though, so until then I’ll be sketching out my ideas

That was a lame comment! Why wouldn’t people buy them? You must not look and listen as much as you talk. Look at Coupe’s products for instance, he sold out two group buys for battery holders with trd and trd pro engraved. I asked for something I know people like, it’s not like I’m asking for outlandish things like a stainless frame or really silly stuff. Op wants ideas and let him shoot them down if he doesn’t like em, are you all of the sudden making them? I didn’t think so. Don’t be mad if you cannot afford good products for a first gen that I don’t see in your sig.

Just picking man. Its a running joke in the 1st gen BS thread that the third geners like to slap as many trd logos on anything that they can. +5 horsepower and all. Sure people would buy them, but from what Ive seen on here, most 1st genners prefer blacked out trucks with as little flashyness as possible. Those battery hold downs look great under the hood, but I doubt many folks would put a flashy door handle on. It would look kinda out of place. Just my 2 cents and all.
