Anybody oh here any good at doing retrofits? I am really considering a pair after many nights of blinding people with my super glued in led's......

 

There is a nice 4dr Subaru that got cold and had a bon fire up main line north bend. It is in a shitty spot or middle of the road. Fyi

Did anyone end up going to the olympic 4x4 parts auction on friday? I didn't see anything good there. They had buncha landcruisers in the pictures but when we got there they were all gone :/ I'm just bidding online right now.

 

I was trying to bid online to get the spring compressor they had but it sold for a bit more than I wanted to spend. I don't know of anyone that physically went though.

 

That's what it seems like, nothing was really a great deal unless you were really set on 1 item, and even then it's used and you're not sure of the condition. Ah well.

 

Crap was selling for way to much. Still is even on the two online only auctions. Rigid lights at almost regular retail. I was watching a few items during the online pre-auction and just laughed and stopped following.

Anymore to get any sort of good deal at an auction it has to be in-person only and not super well advertised. Least on anything good. You could have bought all the parts to build a pretty good Jeep of some sort from all their random parts, body parts, and tubs.

 

I swear many people turn off their brain at auctions and get wrapped up in the excitement. They get coco for cocoa puffs......

I've seen it with firearms auctions too. Guys bidding, winning and paying more than retail (after you factor in the buyer's premiums) for stuff they could walk into a local shop and buy.

 

A guy I work with knows one of the people working for the auction company that put this one on and he said exactly the same thing, he sees it all the time.

 

Yup people go in and just want to win in the end. Went to the local auction place here in town a few times. Quickly stopped going. People just got way to into and would bid everything way to high. Especially on stuff you dont even know if it works or not.

The only guns I do auctions for anymore are C&R stuff. And even then I know my max bid before I even start

 

I'm just trying to scoop up some of those 35" tires for cheap. If there's anything else dirt cheap that I can flip in the jeep market I'll try to pick some up too.

 

I bid on 1 thing... Haven't been outbid yet. Not even an offroad type thing though.


In other news... I'm now set up to do big electrical stuff, like battery cables and dual battery stuff. And I'm pulling the trigger today on the stuff to refill shocks.

 

We were there looking at tools and stuff in person. They had buncha things I thought you may have liked like tube stock and benders, etc.

Just have to wait till the last day. Thats when youll start really seeing movement on stuff

 

Yeah, I doubt I'll win anything for the price I want to pay. I don't "need" anything I'm bidding on lol, so if it goes past like 60% of retail I'll stop bidding. Some of the stuff is already at retail and it's not even the last day. People are stupid.
