SOS Offroad Bestop Bed Rack

Man I’m having the EXACT same issue wish I had seen this post earlier

Also speaking with him today. He told me that the rack needs to me put on the truck, then slide the softopper in under the rack fully assembled and in the open position. Installing it that way may help with some of your issues. If not then please don't hesitate to contact him and speak with him about the issues.

 

I have tried the slide in method. If it fit, it would be on right now. The issue is that, in my case at least, the topper bows are wider than the rack itself. As in, if the sides of the rack were 1” further apart it would fit. Now, I have seen pics of the Softopper fitting but no pics of a Bestop fitting. I do not believe they are the same dimensions.
I too, have been emailing Eddy trying to work this out. Fact of the matter is, I just want something that works. I did not want to have to deal with ill fitment. I’m a disabled vet. When I get done futzing around with it I’m out of commission. I don’t feel great about buying a headache.

It's not just advocating for you. I don't like seeing customers unhappy with product and if I can work through the issues with them then I try. Eddy should get you squared away if you are having issues and have been in contact with him.

 

I agree. I’d rather be singing praise then in this mode of struggling but I’d rather say something and help others than suffer silently and so too, do others. And if this helps Eddy with refinement, then even better.

 

So I have emailed Eddy three more times. It seems he had stopped responding and is unwilling to resolve this issue

 

I would like to update this thread and give Eddy the credit he deserves. After he and I went over many ideas and trying to figure out how to make it work, we were unable to solve “in the field” and, for what I am sure was painful, provided a full refund. It is my wish that Eddy continues to develop this unique solution and is able to be successful.

 

I ordered my rack in the middle of Feb. What was the lead time for you guys? I like how close it looks to the sides and hope the top is the same. I have a Softopper so I shouldn't have the issues you best top guys are having.
