whats wrong with clowns??? they look so adorable with the face paint and red nose like rudolf! and dont forget the large shoes to trip them up as they run.

 

Ive had the ship lose power in the middle of the ocean while taking a shit once. whats worst is the emergancy genny didnt start. quickest dumb and go ive ever had to do as i rushed to finish thinking we had a fire in the engine room or something. nope, just the 1 working genny decided to die and the backup refused to start. 5 min later we had the other main one back on and running. i will never get the sound of nothing out of my head again after that night and not hearing anything run on a ship underway.

 

Any fuel or oil leaking from the Genny?

 

luckily no. otherwise that would of sucked. anything over a small leak counts as a main space fire and such... i think it just overheated or had a vibration alarm.

But i have had ASW (aux salt water) that feeds all the engines and gennies with raw water for cooling burst moments after leaving a port. one of the MKs ran down there in a drysuit (she was on stby for the small boat incase anyone fell over as we got underway. She ended up jumping on the pipe and covered it till they secured it. then we spent the next 3 days in port again fixing it and the other 7 spots on the line that had been "fixed". boss wasnt happy people didnt replace the pipes and just used sinthoglass to fix it. What he didnt know was over half the pipes in the engine room had it also. haha.

 

Problem is, there are holes all over the building letting various wildlife in...
One of my first overnights here and this happened.
