KC HiLites Gravity G4 LED Fog Lights, thoughts.

I recently pulled the trigger on these fog lights and wanted to post up some pictures and express my thoughts if anyone had been looking at these. There is limited information on the site with pictures so I hope this contributes a little.

Backstory: I was running Opt7 LEDs in my low beams and loved them. However, I was disappointed in the output and spread of the halogen fogs so I swapped those out for the Opt7 LED bulbs as well. The configuration seemed to work pretty well however I noticed that the super white light was a bit lackluster in dense fog and inclement weather. After installing a 25" LED with my SSO bumper the light output from that seemed to supersede/overshadow my LED foglights. At this point my truck seemed to be overloaded with white light which became somewhat problematic.

I began researching some lights and I have always had KC on my other rigs such as my Jeep with great success. The 180w Slimline lights are still running great today and are 10+ years old. The main problem I had with the KC Gravity lights was their Price. At $302 this is a bit steep even for a full replacement. Decent LED bulb lights can be purchased for $100 or less which to me was hard to justify the $300
That being said I was able to purchase these lights of Amazon for around $220 which I think is a fair price.

Installation was a breeze and is true plug and play, unplug fog light, remove screw, pull old housing out, place new one in, screw in, plug in. Done.

The lights are not as powerful as the Opt7 and rightfully so, these are a fog light not a headlight. The cutoffs seem perfect and they are adjustable. I like that they are adjustable and I can set them where I need them which is something the stock fog housing was unable to do. The lights are backed by a 23 year warranty so they should last forever. The disadvantage to them however is that the bulbs cannot be removed from the housing, not that you should ever need to but if you plan on making changes, keep your stock housing.

Overall I am very pleased with the construction, the light output, the housing installation and wiring. I think the yellow comes in much better when traveling in inclement weather and dense fog and cuts through much better.

Good write up... yea $3 hundy ... because full replacement housing. I think that looks like genuine replacement housing with different lamp and glass to me, so quality.

Quality always costs more..$2 hundy is a great price for that.

 

I like them a lot so far, the yellow makes a big difference, definitely glad I swapped them out. I'm not sure how they compare with a yellow LED bulb in a stock housing, I think the new lens and reflector does a better job focusing the spread of the light than the stock housing imo.

I also had an Amazon gift card when I bought these so only $120 out of pocket.

Looks good, wonder how the spread is on the road? Look very narrow beam pattern but quite yellow which is nice. Anyone who uses fog lights for fog lights should run yellow. Makes such a difference in snow and bad weather

very nice, Ive been looking at these as well but the price always steers me away. if i ever see them under 200 i would jump on them too

 

Any update after a year? I recently just found these, and they look like a great option. I am all stock at this point, so I am trying to find beam shots of stock vs the KC. Thanks for any help.

There are 3 hex screws on the fog light, do you know how to adjust them up? There's one on the bottom back and 2 on the sides.

 

I just installed these on my truck. The screw on the bottom back is the only one that adjusts. It adjusts up and down. The two on the sides just hold the bracket on which makes them fit on the truck with no modifications.

 

Some how I missed this.

The lights are still very awesome. Definitely worth the money.

I’ll be selling mine shortly though when I get my new bumper. Unfortunately these won’t mount with it.

 

How much you looking to get for them?

 

Probably around $200 but not 100% sure as I haven't put a lot of thought into it yet. New bumper arrives end of April.

 

I like mine, they have a very wide spread. Sometimes I wish I had bought the clear ones though.

Are the fog light front made out of glass or plastic??

 

It's a hard polycarbonate lens. Since it has been out, I have only seen one individual G4 that had a lens get broken!
