Local store has an Old Rip on the shelf for $129... also never seen one in the wild. Looks like secondary is closer to $500?

Is it Old Rippy? If is ole rip van winkle then better buy it before someone else does.

I have a old Rippy that I haven't opened yet. It was closer to $50.

Couple of us had a few pours after a long hard week :drunk:. EH Taylor is legendary. The rye is nice, even tho rye isn’t necessarily my thing. Elmer is delicious, but def earthy. George T Stagg, well what can I say about buffalo trace antique collection other than they’re about as good as it gets right now. Up there with pappy 15, maybe better

If that is Old Rip Van Winkle, I would have bought it without hesitation.

Pretty sure my local store has that available. He has a few different editions, if I recall. If under $130, want me to grab one?

Love that Grooves. I was looking hard for the Committee Release version before settling on the regular one. I did get to taste the CE and the extra proof is very welcomed.

    Great spread there!

That Annis' Answer is one of two bottles of Booker's that I'm holding on to. I have a bottle from each of the birth years of my daughters (2013 & 2016). They'll get opened on some occasion - likely their wedding day. Had a pour of it once and found it very tasty. Right in the Booker's wheelhouse from a punch and spice standpoint.

Old Rip Van Winkle 10 for $130? Buy it! It's good stuff and the bottle makes a great statement on the shelf!

How did you like the Basil to the Bookers? I just bought a bottle of Basil Hayden's and tried it over the weekend. I liked it, not to spicy and not a lot of after taste. Wondering how it compares to Booker's

I'm crazy excited that this place is opening up just a mile up the road from my house. Will turn into my after work stop some nights for certain.

    They were totally different.

The Basil Hayden was like you said very smooth. The bookers was spicy with a lot of burn. Both very good IMO.

I’m going to pick up a bottle of the Basil Hayden next time I see it.

fuckballs that's a lot of bottles. Not sure if cocktails are your thing but they have a solid lineup of the classics with seemingly accurate recipes.

Basil is one of my favorite bourbons (within a reasonable price range). Like you said super smooth, but enough bite.
