Space wise, how is it compared to a traditional RTT?

This is true but compared to a traditional rtt like Dan and I have it's almost double

I thought Barto was asking about moisture getting in the tent when it was already folded up, like day to day driving around in the rain or what not. But yeah it's definitely true that the folding ones will trap moisture if you close them up when wet...I always make sure to air mine out when I get home and give it a good cleaning.

Have you checked out Adventure Trailers? They still around? They made an awesome clamshell camp trailer and teardrop camp trailer and quality was not compromised in the design or build. Unbelievable trailers
Edit: doesn't look like they make that clam shell one anymore, shame cuz that was my favorite

Our style of RTT is odd. I always thought folding it up wet with my bedding inside would for sure mean wet bedding and wet interior. But after some trips where it just wouldn't stop raining and snowing, where I had to fold it up day after day wet and sometimes slightly frozen. It really just means a miserable 5-10mins of folding it away, but the actual insides always seem to stay dry.

Yeah I’ve seen ‘em. I don’t go camping nearly enough to necessitate one though haha

I think they lost their rights to a patent to some Aussie company, but Smitty built makes something similar now.

I've noticed that as well but the one place where moisture really does seem to get trapped (in mine at least) is directly underneath the mattress, between the mattress and the bottom of the tent. I admit I haven't always been very diligent about drying it out right away and have been worried that it would start to mold or something, but it does seem to dry itself out from the bottom still. Worst case I'll have to wash the mattress which I should probably do a couple times a year anyway lol. It can get pretty dirty in there, after Pismo I kept finding sand in the RTT for weeks

I can get RTT’s and Jumping Jack Trailers at 10% over cost now, so that’s neat.

I feel like I camp more than the average person but I feel guilty sometimes that I don't camp enough to justify having a tent on my truck all the time, lol. It's mostly just because it's such a pain to take on/off by myself without a pulley system or garage.

I was wondering about that, mine zips up all the way around but I sometimes worry that if I seal it up completely that I might actually be doing it a disservice by not letting it air out some on it's own. After our last Pismo trip it got a lot of sand and sea moisture in it. Guess I'll find out soon...gonna do another Pismo weekend in a few weeks since my wife didn't get to go last time and really wants to camp on the beach. I should probably inspect the tent before we do that lol.
