I am thinking stew, but also might try shredding for sammiches. The chicken and beef I've done in the IP came out moist and tasty.

    Apple Spice Dump Cake
    • 2 21 oz. cans of apple pie filling (I used caramel apple - was not bummed on the result)
    • 1 box (15.25 oz) of spice cake mix
    • 8 oz. of stick butter (2 bricks)
Pour the apple pie filling in the crock pot
    IMG_7029.jpg

Evenly spread the cake mix on top
    IMG_7032.jpg

    Add two sticks of butter
    IMG_7033.jpg

Cook on high for 2-2.5 hours. Look for the butter to be completely melted and coating the top!

    Creole Chicken and Sausage
    • 3/4 - 1 lb. chicken breast
    • 13 - 16 oz. spicy andouille sausage
    • 14 oz. can of fire roasted tomatoes (not pictured)
    • 6 oz. can of tomato paste (not pictured)
    • 1 - 2 tablespoons of preferred creole seasoning - to taste
    • 1 green bell pepper - chopped
    • 1 red bell pepper - chopped
    • 1 small onion (about 1 cup) - diced
    • 3 garlic cloves
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    IMG_7100.jpg

Mix the fire roasted tomatoes and tomato paste in the crockpot and stir in the onions, garlic, and sausage. Place your salted/peppered chicken breast and sprinkle the creole seasoning on top
    IMG_7101.jpg

** PRO TIP: Save the bell peppers for the last hour of cooking to retain some texture in your dish**

Cook on low for 8 hours. Stir in the bell peppers at the last hour and voila!

I think I remember that... I'm too scared to try seafood in the crock pot.

Trimmed roast was maybe 3/4#. CGG forgot the Italian packet. So, Slap yo Mama rub. CGG made a qt of beef bullion for me, but I intended to use half, and half for another cook. She poured it all in the pot. :angrygirl: Oh well.
In the IP, slow cook mode, LOTS of juice left. And leftover meat.
Result... excellent sammich and another tomorrow. AND, the leftover juice will make some awesome gravy! Butter, flour, whisk til brown, add in juice, whisk some more. Gravy on anything edible!
Thanks @Beef Nachos for the recipe, this is one of the best.
