Is it both sides or one? It was just my left so I removed the resistor and that seems to have fixed it.

So one change I made at the very end of the kit was 6OHM resistors(because I was matching what the stage 2's come with). I am thinking about going back to 10OHm with a little less resistance, hopefully should fine tune the kit.

I installed my kit w/o the resistors and it works fine. Of course, I taped up the connector to protect it from the elements.

Maybe a cap of some sort can be included in the kit for that purpose. :)

Noted! This is what helps me to continue evolving the kit:thumbsup:

I wish we could just code the body ECU or whatever Toyota uses to not use the bulb failure detection to hyperflash like euro cars could.

Hey @mesojdm... I realize that I'm opening my self up to some criticism here, but I may be a little older than some members - cutting my teeth in the age of Chrome-Plated-GoFasters as opposed to the more recent age of Black-Outs & De-Badging. I can certainly appreciate and love a one-off look, but just like I had trouble accepting the change from the chrome bumper on my 1990 Chevy S10 to the color-keyed bumper on my 1995 Chevy S10; I'm having trouble accepting the change from the chrome bumpers on my 1996 & 2006 Tacomas to the color-keys caps on my 2016. As such, I found an inexpensive set of $20 chrome caps that I'd like to test out the look of. Unfortunately, the chrome caps that I found do not have the cut-outs for backup sensors that I need. The back of the cap actually shows an outline of where the holes would go, but I've not decided how I'd like to create the cut-out. I had planned to use my Dremel, but was wondering if you thought the Ultra-Sonic knife would cut through the pseudo chrome caps better and cleaner of if the plating would be an issue.

So, are people having issues already running resistors in front?

You have a bigger issue... I believe the reason the chrome caps were not used on Tech package equipped Tacomas is because of the BSM system. The reason the cutout locations exist is because the same piece is used regardless some are plain, some are painted, and some are chromed. I don’t think the sonic knife will have any issue, heat and conductivity are the only issues that would interact with the chrome (generally referred to as Plastichrome).

Chalk up another one for the great USPS .
    Estimate date arrival 2/25 by 8pm .
Stayed stuck in limbo in Sacramento THEN it went to Kansas. Where's the package going you say ?
    Hawaii.
One time, my package took a tour of the US.
From LA ...to IDAHO...to NY...to Tx...to Philly...to Seattle ...BACK LA ...finally to Hawaii.

    Idiots. :annoyed:

got my stage 1 installed today. didn't have to run resistors and the only other LEDs I have are the ultimate turn signals...:bananadance:

these things are ridiculously bright...thought my wife had the brake applied but it was just the running lights...

Maybe that's where guys are having problems....running 2 resistors of different ohms.

does this imply that the ultimate turn signals have resistors in them?

Yes. Both stage 1 and stage 2.
He pretty much made it a no brainer install.

So this is exactly why I made the resistor on a quick disconnect harness. Everyone’s setup is different and may/may not require them. This kit was designed and tested for an ALL stock bulb truck. People that have my ultimate mirror signals might not need them as it already has a resistor built inside the turn signals
Yes they actually do. 10ohm on the PC board

I was afraid of that :) I'll have to do a little more research to see if the metallic in the Platsichrome blocks the BSM. At least I only spent $20 :)
