It’s the 1.4m awning, which is ~55” wide.

A few weeks ago, i was camping with @tacomgee and @tyfoon11 in the rain, and they both had awnings out the back of their drifters. They were able to keep the tailgate area dry, while i had no such means.

Thank goodness @tyfoon11 is a BIT on the taller side (and super kind to lend a hand!)

How does your OTR antenna work out in that spot?
I'm about to mount mine on the back of the lid, but I'm not necessarily 100% committed to that spot yet.

Right, hence my tentative plan for the back of the lid (on an articulating mount). I'm just trying to think comprehensively about possibilities so that any holes I drill are future-proof.

The aluminum (on mine) doesn’t seem to interfere at all with a signal. I tested it thoroughly in a few different positions before coming to this location. Weboost told me the same JB but for what I do with the truck, I wanted that thing out of the way as much as possible.

@snwbrdr852 I’d suggest a temporary powering of the unit to try out different positions. There are apps for signals that can help you to determine the best location for your truck.

For those running the OTR, WeBoost makes an upgraded mount for it. Mine snapped two weeks after installing it while going (probably) too fast on the Mojave Road.

What weboost is everyone using, I am trying to find a decent cell booster for my truck and work truck and a lot of the ones we have where I am are pure junk and have returned many fo them for not working or producing and gain on the phones built in meters. Up here it seems to be surecall or something like that that everyone is selling.

Damn, you did that quick! I had my awning I snagged of @tacomgee in my garage for like 3 months before I finally mounted it.

Is no one else amused that Blockbuster in Bend, OR made stickers for being the last one standing?

2019 Tacoma TRD OR Access Cab
Hi all, this is a great thread. New to TW, Tacoma's, and everything about them, but learning fast. Coming from 23 yrs of owning and heavily modifying a LR Defender D90 for serious rock crawling that took me everywhere.

Wanted to get into a new vehicle more for exploring, adventuring & camping comfortably (no more sleeping on the ground), that would still be a good on road driver. With that in mind I bought a 2019 TRD OR Access cab last December & started making plans how to mod it without going to crazy and overbuilding it for my intended use (my bad habit :).

So far mods are; Cooper STT PRO's 235/85R16 (didn't want to mess with gears for now), SCS F5 wheels, OME 2" HD lift, ARB twin compressor & Off grid dual battery system. Bumpers, sliders etc next.

Looked at RTT and off road trailers but didn't like the downsides. I want a good base camp if I stay somewhere for a while to hike, fish, MTB, explore and chill & also stay mobile with easy deployment when I'm doing overnights.

So what did I decide? Well after a lot of research and sorting thru a ton of posts a Vagabond Drifter of course :) Thank you all your posts have been very helpful trying to decide how to build this out!

The trip out to get it will take a few days, MA to CA but coming back should be fun if I can get enough time off work. Very excited about starting this new adventure.

Phil has been great to deal with & looking forward to being part of the Vagabond family!
