Nice! I will not have a booth this year. Didn't have enough inventory this year to do so. I'll see if I make it out. From what Brain was saying is that is is a lot bigger than last year.

Yeah it’s supposed to be bigger. And how much inventory do you have?

For the New Mexico guys, you might want to look at this

There is a bill working its way through the current legislature in Santa Fe. This bill wants to add a front license plate along with the current rear bumper only license plate for New Mexico automobiles.

If you want to voice your opinion on this ,
google: New Mexico HB231, and e mail the bill's two sponsors . Bill Rehm and Patricio Ruiloba

I don’t see a problem with it. Definitely will help with identifying thieves cars. I know when our Chevy was stolen - the only part of the thief’s truck we could see on camera was the front.

Other than adding a license plate bracket, I like the idea, just for what your saying

Yeah it will only be $2 per registration. Not terrible. The opposition is license plate brackets and drilling into bumpers (which does suck for some) but I already have holes so it’s whatever to me

I think it’ll help ID cars and people (some don’t like that though too for license plate readers and whatnot), also more of a PITA to steal two license plates than one (I wouldn’t know :spy: )

There is absolutely no good reason in my mind for a front plate requirement. I'll be writing some emails to say "Thank you, but no thank you".

I live in TX and hate it. I’m still not running one on my 80 series with a ARB front bumper. If I get in a bind I throw it on the dash. Drilled the SOS bumper on my Tacoma.

Also, I have a 2019 contact list for all of our political representatives, both NM and US, in excel format. If you would like to have it via email, send me a PM.

Probably a better course of action than emailing the sponsors themselves would be to email your particular representative and tell them to vote "NO". The sponsors likely could not care less what we think unless we are one of their electing constituents. If you email the representative for your area and tell them that this would cost them your vote come election time, that might have more of an impact. Find your representative here:

On an un-related note, I am considering going the skinny-tire route, and putting some 235/85-16 tires on my 16" factory alloys. Has anyone else tried this, or given it any thought? I want 32" tires, but the 265/75-16 tires weigh a lot and my 2.7L truck has little power. I am considering the new-ish Cooper AT tires.

    Greg,

I got all up in the pizza-cutters vs. fat tire discussion awhile back and decided fat was ok for me. The argument is the skinnier the tire, the smaller the contact patch, the higher the contact pressure goes since pressure is pounds/sq. inch and the sq inches is decreasing whilst pounds is staying the same. I have had friends argue that skinny is what you want for snow and ice and rock crawling. I argue for snow, mud and sand (which you actually have quite a bit around NM depending on time of year) you want more float, i.e. bigger contact patch. Even for rock crawling, I argue that once aired down, a larger contact patch will form to the rock contours better. I have no nor seen any scientific data to show a correlation between which works better for what, mostly theorycrafting. I think there was a theorycraft article on the expedition portal that explained why pizza cutters are better. Might be worth a google.

How is retirement life? Working at a gunshop already?

I’ve always like them too that ones a good lookin truck.

On a side note I fucked up and had my coffee mug in my backpack and the bag tipped over. Ended up spilling down the side of the seat. Any idea how to remove the stain? I know the fabric on our seats are pretty sensitive. 3148D99F-F289-4B6C-BE1D-48B953EC02B3.jpg
