sorry for the question, i searched for a half hour with no luck.... i am installing a 3" procomp coilover lift and builtright ucas. i ordered a set of 17-8.5 atx thug rims. they are -6mm offset with 4.51 backspacing. i want to know what tiresize... will i be able to fit 285/70r17s without having to trim anything? i want to keep my mudflaps on the truck. or will i have to get 265/70r17s? i want to try and keep from trimming the body mounts and everything else....

    so,

    265/70r17 or 285/70r17?

btw, its on a 2010 toyota tacoma accesscab sr5 prerunner bsp paint.

265's if you really dont want the chance of scrubbing/trimming, if you dont mind a little trimming go with 285's

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
u'll have to remove the flaps, trim flare, and possibly some inner fender. with a good alignment and the wheels pushed slightly forward they may not touch the body mount.....but there is no guarantee

I have 285's with 16" wheels... (see my signature for all the specs) and this is a pic of all I had to trim. Im still running the mudflaps. No rubbing at all after a very minor amount of trimming to the inner fender plastic shown below:

Thanks for the post and pics. I'm going up from a DuraTrac 265-75-R16 to a 285-70-R17 and am debating whether I should trim the body mts when I get the sliders welded on. Unlike most guys on the forum I would like to keep the mud flaps or add on aftermarket ones.

Do you rub the cab mounts at full flex?

    What UCA's are you running?
