I'm just wondering how yall are getting 20-22 miles per gallon? You are talking about the 3.5 V6 right? I filled up my tank one time and tried to drive it as grandma'ish as I could around town and wherever I drove. The best I could get was 19.5mpg. When I drive normally, I get around 17.5-18.5mpg.

20-22+ would be mostly highway driving with conservative speeds (60-65mph)

If you are not in a hurry and don't push too hard these do pretty well, I will see 23 and above on certain trips.

That's just craziness! Like I said, I grandma drove mine for a whole tank, barely even getting above 2500rpm and 19.6 was about the best I could get.

Driving around town I get somewhere between 17.5 and 19 (the 19 happening every once in awhile). I would say I average about 18MPG around town and about 22 - 23 highway, maybe a little better with a tailwind, lol.

I definitely didn't buy it for the MPG's, otherwise, I would have bought a corolla or a civic. It's truck and I'm happy with the MPG's I'm getting. BTW I'm still running stock tires.

I’d be thrilled also but I’m not getting on Interstate what your getting in town. I’d like to be where your at but my truck sits most of the time, usually buy one tank a month so I’m not complaining.

WOW! Have you taken it to the dealer to have it checked out? You would think they would all be more or less somewhere in the same range when it comes to MPG. I guess to your point if you only fill up once a month then that's not too bad. I fill up about once a week.

since this issue started with the 2016's i would think by 2018 models the TSB would be programed in from the factory? just guessing.

Mine did the same thing when I drove it in D. Started driving it in s mode all the time and it shifts like it should. But I think a lot of these trucks act differently.

I have had it since September 2018 and hope to have 5000 miles on it sometime late March, I will ask then and hope to get the TSB done then while it’s getting it’s 5000 mile service.

You are correct, these trucks behave different. Sometimes when I see all the complaints about them I think that maybe I'm lucky and got the only good one. The only issues that I had were the transmission TSB & the AC blower wheel recall.

I rarely use cruise control, but I have a lot of hills around me and the 4-5-6 dance was pretty annoying.

TSB 0052-18 improved my driving experience quite a bit. The 4-5-6 dance is less frequent and acceleration feels a bit more responsive.

Didn't make sense to me either. That's why I never used ECT for the first 7k. Tried it one day and works for me. My guess it all comes down to the transmission learning my style of driving, and the fact that I have a "light" right foot.
