The performance tune adds 40HP?

 

I don't owe anything on the truck, bought cash and no mortgage either. I'm just being a cheap ass but hey if I wasn't I probably wouldn't be where I am today. I have no financial burdens but I still try to conserve when possible, just a habit I guess.

Probably doesn't help that I live in one of the most expensive places for cost of living as well as gas prices and I have to gas up 2 other vehicles so everything does add up.

Anyway I was just looking for some feedback from anyone who has tried both to see what their thoughts were since I'm currently 3 hours away from home and didn't bring my flashing laptop.

It adds 40 horsepower at damn near 6900 rpm, that’s because of the increased rev limiter on the performance tune. Yes it adds 40 horsepower but it’s 40 horsepower you will rarely ever see

 

PSA for those flashing on Windows 10, disable windows defender BEFORE you click "install all software" in the FM. I didn't my 1st time and was surprised with notifications saying all the .exe files were trojan viruses and Windows had automatically quarantined them all.

Also make sure you have the latest Windows updates because I hadn't used my laptop for a while and I kept getting errors when installing FM however after updates everything went smooth.

Seriously guys, it's done when it's done. You asking about it multiple times a day isn't going to make it happen any faster.

 

If you are that hard up to get the performance tune just do the ECM update to 04B04, it is a very easy process and then you won't have to worry about being patient..

Don't undertand them either, especially since you give them a link to download Techstream and step by step instructions on how to install it in your signature. They could have done the TSB and tuned last week!
