they said it's not under warranty and if the sound is really bothering me then to pay 2000 to get the clutch replaced. so i don't have 2G's to spend! any words of advise?

If this were the case your clutch plate would show wear marks possibly chips if this were the case. Sometime those guys don't know their heads from their asses. I take my truck to a toyota specialist. I don't dare step in the door at the dealership. These guys give me great prices on everything... you should try finding someone that specializes only in toyota.

Look at it this way, you saved yourself $50. Goodluck with your install.

Mine started chattering after a trip to and from New Mexico. 68K on the truck, but I bought it used with 60K on it, so I don't know if it was a problem in the past. I guess I'll take a peek and see if it is wobbling tomorrow.

My thoughts on the PDM kit: it sounds like a good fix, but if for whatever reason it goes out, you can't run down to O'Reilly's or VatoZone and get another; you'll have to wait for another to ship from PDM. Not really what I want to do.

ok got it in took between 8 and 10 hours for slow me to drop it drive on the sleeve. dropping the trans is alot more involved than my old 22r swamp buggy. i had more trouble getting the wiring harness off the top and and back on due to no slack. all i lack is 2 new exhaust flange gaskets for each side where i disconnected they looked burnt nearly out so i ordered new which will be at parts store in more. ill give a follow up on chirp stop or what happens. wish me luck and remember me and my truck in your prayers tonight. ha ha no seriously

Just got the truck back from Eric at KC Customs, they do awsome work. Had the URD stage 2 clutch installed and also the parts from PDM. Cant believe what a difference there is. No more chirping, no more grinding when going from 1st to 2nd and 4th to 5th. The truck shifts the way I have always thought it should.:D:D:D

I have had my 2.7 2010 with 4500 miles in for this 2 times. And they are giving me the run around. Says its more of a annoyance issue. Any advice?

(mine only happens when the a/c cycles on and off and the truck is in Nuetral. Once i push the clutch in it goes right away, turn the a/c and its fine.)

Anybody in the San Luis Obispo, CA area had any luck with the local dealers on this one? I'm in SLO, but the dealer here is claiming they have never heard of the problem. Is it worth driving to Santa Maria or Lompoc? Anybody have any good experiences to report? I would rather not try to educate a group of guys who don't seem to want to be helpful.

Alright so 11 pages is alot to read so I am prepared flamed:

I got 41k on my 2.7L 5 speed manual. I have this same damn problem. Some people got theirs fixed, some like the OP are still having issues. If I went into Toyota with my 41k mile truck and asked them to fix this noise/throughout bearing..would they or would they not look at/fix under warranty?
