    Keep an eye on your afr, my cats died not long after i did the fpr mod on my shorties while running the 2.85 on trd tune.

    Either @Torspd or @Roostfactor once mentioned the idea of tacking a little honeycomb material from an old cat over the sensor or j-bung orifice. Try that if you have an old cat laying around. Or try to find a smaller orifice if possible.

    Without air flowing through it constantly I would wonder if it gets hot enough to function. Great to try though!

    I thought you didn’t need the fpr mod until you put the 2.7 on? OR....you don’t need the fpr mod if you have the ovtune.....even with a 2.7

    You'll be fine with a 2.7. I was just teasing that you should get a 2.5

    Lol.....what about the fpr?? I know with a 2.7 it’s suggested......I thought you didn’t need it though if you had the ovtune (on a 2.7). I tried finding where one of you guys said that but I can’t locate it.

    That's because aftermarket catalytic converters are utter crap.

    No seriously, they are designed in such a way that they barely (and sometimes not even at all in most cases) pass emissions and satisfy the on board monitoring systems of the vehicle specific computer.

    If you have ever compared the overall size of an OE to an aftermarket catalytic converter you will find it is physically MUCH smaller over the OE direct replacement. There is a reason for that.

    Gotta love a Ferarri pitch, but all bark no bite. I just traded in my wife's Levante and it sucked in terms of capability. We did love the exhaust note though.

    Oh okay that's good. Eliminating that front the equation there are more factors than just doing the FPR to it, if you were high mileage we have to take account lazy air fuel ratio sensors and possibly other stuff that we aren't accounting. The possibility of a defective cat isn't out of the realm of possibility either.

    Another factor to take into account is the new flow rate of the collector before the cat. It is possible that due to how close in proximity the cat is to the collector that the major change in flow design may have superheated the cat to the point of failure as well as it is now handling much larger rushes of scorching hot air than it was originally designed to be handling.

    A lot of unknown variables present here.
