I think the sliders on my truck in my avatar are not kickout and I had no issues with them. Except for always getting trees caught in between the slider and tire. But it has a steel flat bed that I dont mind to slam into a tree or rock. My 16 doesnt and the kickout will push my away from said tree or rock and let my rear tire get to it before the flare or front of the bed. Pros and cons.

 

I’m really taking mine off to wire wheel and repaint..

 

Eh. It’s more for looks then, I’ve touched mine up a few times. But in rocks and trees there gonna get the battle scars either way

 

Depending on how ambitious I get I hit mine with a wire brush and spraypaint after every wheeling trip. Like Josh says it's a losing battle, they still get rock chipped and door dung in parking lots

 

I do it once a year.

Not really for the looks, just easier for me to pull them off and touch up and get in the crevices where I have some rust coming up..
I’ve hit them with spray paint here and there in the last 5 Years
But it’s time for a full touch up..

How much lift/drop do those add?

 

Usually add .75" lift

I've got 4 or 5 pallets, not sure if someone wants to make furniture or just cut them up and use them for some great firewood for the summer camping season. *Disclaimer* Don't be an asshole and burn the whole pallet and leave all the nails at your camping spot

 

just make sure they are not chemical treated before burning.
