I have these same headers I haven’t put in yet. Do you think they are really worth putting on?

Possible thread revival? I've considered adding these to already installed aFe Y, TRD cat, NA. Any one have these? Any issues? Gains/loss? Cabin noise/drone?

    Any info is appreciated!

First, this is from February of last year. Threads never die!

Second, as for the air pipe...

Mine is a 2011 without the air injection. While I have not yet installed the headers, I have directly compared the exhaust gaskets for a 2012 (air injection) and my 2011 (no air injection). The only thing that needs to be done to install them on a non-air injection model is to block off the end of the air pipe. The gaskets indicate that the ports for the air injection will be blocked by both the exhaust gasket and the cylinder head once installed.
As for me, I'm mulling over whether to cut off and weld shut the air pipe, or to just block off the end. Being in SoCal and having to take into consideration emissions testing, and not really wanting to swap for testing, I'm leaning toward the cut-&-weld method. But laziness plays a factor in there, too. Plus, I would need to transfer the ID tag from my OE cats, which just means more cutting and welding.

so your saying once the OE cats removed you need to cut the serial number and weld it onto the AFE Twisted steel headers.

Yes, as an attempt to get it to pass visual. They look for approved serial numbers, which are either etched or stamped onto the cats, or a plate with same is welded onto them (Toyota's preferred method).
