It has a full length aluminum extrusion with two T tracks. Also I put a magnet to the fasteners and they're stainless.

I would totally get one of those. But, I want one that fits over the tailgate - and no brackets from GFC yet.

As I have shared before, I'm a fan of the side tent door. Just got home from Baja a few days ago and again loved the side tent door and of course, the side panels on the topper!

For this trip I added an ARB 2500 awning and it was solid in the wind! I also think the 2500 fits the GFC well, plus it gives you more shade, or as was the case on this trip, shelter from the rain.

Have been going to Baja my whole life and this was the coldest trip I can remember. Lots of wind and rain. GFC was solid! Kept me totally dry and the tent didn't make noise at night in the wind. With a lot of blowing sand, salt, and dirt at times, it was nice to come back and simply hose out the whole camper and tent, inside and out, everything being powder coated was nice too. Put the cushions back in and am ready for my next trip.

here are a few pics: IMG_2684.jpgIMG_2771.jpgIMG_2770.jpgIMG_2769.jpgIMG_2767.jpgIMG_2754.jpgIMG_2804.jpgIMG_2817.jpgIMG_2820.jpg

I think it would be wise to keep customers in the loop. Like many said on the Pelfreylbilt bankruptcy thread, even if youre just updating us on delays, we know you guys are working on the campers. If you go radio silent, people will begin to think the worst. I think especially in light of the Pelfreybilt bankruptcy, they should be extra transparent in how things are going. I know a deposit of $500 may not be a lot but thats just my opinion.

Two days after getting an email stating my parts were back from PC, I got another email stating everything is together and now I have to wait on the 1 week curing process, then final QC. Two days for full assembly is a lot quicker than I thought it would be.

That’s why the leaderboard is great. I check it a few times a week.

Nice Pictures and I am due for a Baja Trip once I have my GFC. A great addition to the Awning is a simple bug net. Last time I was camping in Mex the flies were bad and I used the Mombasa bug net (https://www.rei.com/product/729007/mombasa-outback-travel-net-double) with my awning and I'll never travel without it....best $16 I have ever spent!

I was under the impression that they are keeping customers updated. In regards to the $500 deposit. We all paid with a credit or debit card and if you do not receive your product or the company goes bankrupt you can legally charge it back and not pay anything. There is no risk. Only the possibility of disappointment. Can't wait to get mine though.

Do you think that having the side door makes the tent harder to close because of the extra material? Do you have any issues in terms of closing the tent?

I ordered the side door on mine. When I first picked up the camper, it had a tent without the side door installed. GFC shipped me a new tent a week later. When I first installed it, it was much harder to close and I was wondering if I'd rather go without. But after a few cycles of opening and closing, it seems just as easy (or easier as it breaks-in) to close as the side doorless tent. I cant wait for warm weather to take advantage of it!

Does the optional tent side door come with a screen?

I’ve got a 3rd gen 2017 DCSB and was wondering about the GFC compatibility with a 1st gen 2004 DCSB? I thought I saw that the GFC was interchangeable? Does anybody here know if that’s the case?

Mocked up in foam core what I'd like to do for interior storage.

Currently using big plastic containers, this solution will get everything off the ground and leave floor space to sit on coolers and eat, stand, etc.

Can reach in from the outside if necessary and at the moment can be installed on either side .

Thinking I can make it sturdy enough to function as a ladder to get to the top as well.

Also, not camping as much as I thought, but the GFC and my Honda make for an awesome beach hangout setup, and the GF is always willing to join for that. Good weather in February isn't bad either, lol, thank goodness for SoCal.

    Nice!

That also looks like it would work as a killer bar in Cabana mod. Get your liquor license!:rofl:

May just have to do that, lol.

Believe it or not each of those spaces was sized for the blankets, pillows, bags, etc, that we bring with us. Even have a slot there just for the traction ramps, lol.

But being able to reach drinks from the outside sounds like something I should add to the design ;):p:rofl:

It sounds like it is very well thought out. Minimalist Build Out: MBO!

Loving that Trail 90 also. The values on those are skyrocketing.

Definitely. Learned all about too heavy and overbuilt with my previous Jeep.

With this Tacoma I now know how I travel, what I bring, and what trails I actually enjoy. It's much lighter... even while bringing a motorbike, haha.

The CT90 is awesome. It's a 1977, with a nice patina but has been gone through mechanically by me to have some semblance of reliability. It always starts anyway. I really want the new C125 Super Cub though. That or the CT depending on where I'm going on the back of this thing is my dream travel set up.
