Got my truck back today after they replaced the driveshaft, claiming that would stop the vibrations at 20mph when my truck is coasting around that range and when braking moderately. Yeah...that did nothing...so here's what they've done so far that hasn't worked: checked the rotors and brakes (said those are good), replaced the rear axle assembly, and replaced the driveshaft. At this point I'm exhausted from going through this. Going to try and chalk it up to normal Tacoma driving and try to get used to it. I have 90,000 mile warranty so if it is something that will tear up later because of it then at least I have warranty. Other than this problem, I absolutely love the truck. Just hate dealing with this one fustrating issue.

On a good note, I changed out my interior lights to all LED's and it looks amazing.

Try not to give up . Maybe take a week then get back after them . It's not normal and these trucks are to expensive --- if they owned it they would fix it and do they give you a free rental ? GL .

If you drive another taco, you can see what feels like normal. You could try to get them to buy thectruck back or lawsuit

I'm starting to get pretty pissed off, I just got off the phone with a case manager from Toyota Corporate who gave me the same bullshit excuse that the dealership did and told me that because the dealer said it was normal that it's "normal" and nothing they can do. I'm really starting to regret buying this truck, should have kept my Tundra. How can some customers get repairs and trucks bought back and others get told it's completely normal?

I did. And I live in MS. Went to the dealer today and got forceful. They said they'd open a case log on it and get a Toyota engineer/technician down from Jackson, MS to come and look at it and see. If a few times it don't fix the problem then I'm guessing they would replace it with another new one like it.

And I called and informed Toyota and sent a certificated letter to them, informing them this is their last chance to find a lasting fix if they didn’t wanna replace the truck due to lemon law...

Mine does the same and its intermittent. I think the cold has something to do with it too because that's when I notice it the most. After reading about owner replacing drive shafts, axles and drums to no avail, I think I'm just going to live with it rather than have the dealer tear apart the truck. I'm going for my 5k service tomorrow and will keep my mouth shut.

    MAD update.

Toyota says they'll do nothing more to my truck on this issue. They apparently admit to making a crappy vehicle with crappy flaws, which is bull crap because I test drove another new one on the lot and it DID NOT do that. Called Toyota and gave them a piece of my mind. Someone from Toyota is set to call me tomorrow. Maybe they'll reverse there decision and replace my truck with one just like it WITHOUT problems...

Good luck but try to cool down brother... getting pissy with them won't help. Remember the vinegar and honey adage about flies. It's understandable to be upset but if you want them to give a fark you got to relate to them on a personal level so they feel obligated to help. People don't like helping people who are yelling at them generally. Not calling you out here just trying to help you get a resolution!

Mine started at 900 miles. Took it to the dealership at 3100 miles. Told me they couldn't feel the vibration. I told them about this website and how some dealers where changing axles bla bla bla.
They then decided that it had the vibration and told me when coming to a stop pull it into manual shift mode. Yeah right like that made a difference. F#$@ you Toyota south. I will never go back to that dealership or buy another Toyota for that matter.

Hire a lemon law lawyer and stop talking with Toyota.

Nope I will not spend anymore money on this truck. Good thing is it's a 3 year lease. I will be counting the days until I can return it. I dont have time or the money to solve toyotas problems.

I just bought a 2019 OR and have the dreaded vibration too.

FWIW, you may want to try what my dealer/tech recommended and see if it yields any results or not. Here has been my experience....

My Tacoma was driven 50 miles from one dealer to mine for delivery, after I put another ~300 miles on it (350 total) vibrations when braking from ~50mph down to ~10mph started becoming more and more noticeable. there is a real vibration at about 20-30mph range in the steering wheel and floor. The vibration feels like when wheels are out of balance in the front, or riding on a rumble strip. It also feels like the engine is lugging and its happening between down shifts (3-2-1) when decelerating at a certain rate. The RPMS are under 2k when it happens, and it doesn't happen 100% of the time, it happens more often when the engine is cold, and when the deceleration using the brake is at just the right rate. That rate happens to be how fast I like to brake when rolling 45-50mph up to a red light, or up to stop and go traffic on the highway.

So I took it back to the dealer, did a ride with a tech, him and I both drove around and recreated the problem. He says, 1 other 2019 came back with the same exact symptoms and feel. We also drove a new tacoma with 3 miles on it, and it did not behave like mine. He believes this is software related, and what he did, was reset the learned AI shift points in the ECU for the Tacoma's transmission. It took him 5 minutes to do, and he said over the next 50 stop/starts of the engine the ECU takes into account throttle input, driving conditions, braking etc and will modify the shift points and RPM thresholds. Its Toyotas Transmission Adaptive Learning feature. I did vary my RPMS and driving style a lot for the initial 500 miles on my tacoma and i have no idea how it was treated for the first 50 miles so this made sense.

Its been 2 days and the vibrations are noticeably less. My commute to work was without any, and it felt more like the other 2019 I test drove with the tech. Ive only stop/started the engine about 10 times since the reset, but I hope over the next 40 its smooths out.

I know how frustrated you probably feel so maybe trying this is worth a shot, since it takes only 5 mins of time for them to reset it at the dealer, and then you drive normal for a few weeks and see if it improves.

    Good Luck
