Do they build the axles so they are ready to install or do they need to be assembled once you get them?

@G.T. He says “They are splined and ready to install. You would use your stock components for installation.”

Guess we are going to learn how to break down and reassemble some axles.

check with cvj axles. they sell extended axles and can assemble as well. you can return your stock ones for the cores.

id also go 3.5 if i was buying new but not sure what your reasons are for +2

Nice wanna bring that hitch receiver shackle mount with you? Could use it since my ARB Rear Bumper doesn’t have Recovery points.

just extra width and travel gained from the +3.5. with a +2 i dont have any issues with turning radius so i would imagine the extra width with the bigger kit not causing much issue either.

a +3.5 will have more fender clearance issues if thats something your concerned with. mine are cut up plenty as is anyways though :anonymous:

for the slight cost difference i would have just gotten a larger kit is all (if i had bought new). nothing wrong with a +2 and it might not even be worth the $400 difference to only gain 1.5in of wheel travel. (at the same time youre only gaining 2inches of wheel travel compared to stock for the price you already have, so why not go ahead and get the extra for the small difference) just my opinion. the wider the truck itll obviously have more issues in tight spaces.

4600/2.5=$1840 per inch of wheel travel gained(11.5 inches of travel according to TC)
5000/4=$1250 per inch of wheel travel gained(13 inches of travel according to TC)
stock is around 9inches. midtravel is 9.5

if you want to put numbers to it

you might be happier with just doing a nice coilover upgrade in the front (your wallet definitely will be). then just make sure your lower cams arent frozen still, which cant be stressed enough

fyi, axles are really easy to rebuild. Just need a good quality pair of snap ring pliers (lever style, not pin style), small hammer and good cv boot clamps. I can rebuild one in 20-30 minutes (both sides of the shaft) even when its being a pain.

    [IMG]these are the best ones.

rebuild vs taking the shaft out is quite different unless your saying youve done that too?
the outside hub has a c clip that needs sheared off of the axle. some people manage with a pipe drop trick, others have needed 20 ton presses..

Let’s get that new pump mounted as running that press by hand will suck.
