    Yeah.
I don't exactly, but I am guessing it is about 2 inches. You can always make one with different dimensions if needed, or find something at the hardware store that would work.

I've got about a foot of clearance. This angle isn't too much better. IMG_20190126_123813.jpg

I while back I saw a “chair” then has no legs and you are able to have a back rest while sitting in your tent. Well randomly today I found this “stadium arm chair” in Walmart and once I cut the straps off the bottom, well I think this will work great inside my tent. May need to grab 1 more to have a pair

What's everybody using as a mattress pad cover? I've got a dog that's likes the mud and not enough room at home to wash it out and let it dry easily.

What size pad do you have? I have a 94" x 55" pad that's about 4" thick. A queen might be a little short.

Edit: just found Tepui makes sheet sets for the mattresses. Since mine is basically the same size, it should work. It's crazy expensive for the set so I'll wait for a coupon someday...

RAIN... We've just had an RTT for a short time now. Fortunately we have not had to pack it up in the rain yet. If you are on a multi day trip and it is raining most of the time, how long can you go like that before you start to have issues? Like will 3 or 4 days of packing it up wet cause mold or mildew if you are setting it up each night? Thanks

I've done a 10-day trip and had rain and snow and never had any issue with mold/mildew in that timeframe. That was also before getting the anti-condensation mat, so that mattress would be a little damp some days. When sun shines, these tents dry out SUPER fast. I wouldn't worry about it. Just open it up when you get home (or anywhere) and there is sunshine.

I'm curious to know what brands/models of RTT most of the SoCal folks are using.

Looking at purchasing a RTT in the next few months and will be used for weekend camping trips in moderately nice weather conditions for the most part. Also trying to stay within a reasonable price range.

    Thanks all for the input.

Is this such a thing for RTTs? I think a lot of guys go with CVT or Tepui. Do your research, they all seem built off a very similar base platform and then upgraded versions add little bits here and there.

Depends on how you look at it. An RTT can save hotel costs. Before you say "you can ground tent it" or whatever blah blah other options....we all know some women/wives/girlfriends/etc will not do that. An RTT is a sort of "glamping" if you will that will most often afford the opportunity to get said significant other to "rough it" with you. Estimate cheap hotel at 100$ a night and if you camp over 20 nights the lifetime of your RTT you've paid for the RTT.

It was a joke, as I own an RTT. Using your analogy, a reasonably priced hotel is the equivalent of a ground tent as an RTT is to a 5 star hotel.

If you actually want a reasonably priced one - get some fellow TW members, search this site for the instructions, and go buy direct from the factories in China where these all come from. Ask me how I know...
