I don't know how to drive at all. I just mash buttons at random until the place I want to be appears in the fronty-glassy window thing.

My 93 Toyota pickup was a manual. My wife had a manual for quite a few years. I wouldn't own another though. It's too much work in traffic.

I "know how" to drive one, but the only time I've driven one was my buddies BMW back in HS, and that was 15 years ago. Basically if you put me in a MT vehicle right now, it probably wouldn't go well until I got the hang of it again - so I voted no.

The manual trans is the single biggest selling point for me. Everything is automatic nowadays.

I haven't driven one since I learned to drive 15 years ago; I'm sure it'd take me a couple minutes and turns of the key to do it again. I wanted a manual when buying my truck but got the AT because of the longer bed option.

For what it's worth, automatics are easier to shift into 3rd while most of the vehicle is still in the air:

Autos are getting faster and faster these days. Stock mustang GTs running 11.83@119.5mph bone-stock with that awesome 10-speed auto...

The gremlin didn’t much matter since for us we pretty much kept it in neutral and pushed.

I can drive a manual and float gears on a big rig tractor (9-18 speed). It's just not 4 wheelers where the manual transmission is going extinct but same for big rigs

I can drive a manual and love to do so. But I am not one of the manual drivers who acts like they are combat oriented because they can drive one.

    I have a manual frontier and a auto tacoma.:anonymous:
    Edit....
My wife has left the truck unlocked where we live for 9 years. No one has stolen it. She left the keys on the seat the other night. It was still there in the morning. Manuals are great.
Meanwhile my 07 was stolen from my driveway.:( locked and alarmed.

I've had my truck for 3.5 years and a manual Jetta before that for 2. Wife still can't drive a manual.

I can drive and have owned manuals. My Tacoma is an auto, but I wasn't being picky over the features on a $200 truck :D
