Sounds fun. I just got permission to go. Where are we meeting and when?

I saw Ben's notes. They weren't even in the same state, don't let him fool you.

Sounded like you wanted to go in the main entrance? In which case you would need a permit.

But yeah. Devil's Lane is one of my favorite sections of road. We found a pretty sweet campsite right above Bobby's Hole last year that was really nice too.

Lots of Native America history, artifacts, buildings, etc. there.

Lol try this again. Not sure why that last one went screwy. No GPS, not setup like that yet. Probably just plan to be there the 24th then. Guessing we will knock off for home Friday or Saturday so we have time to unpack and relax.

High elevation? 8700? Nah you don't need to go that late. July will suck man. Be so damn hot.

But yeah...so so so much to see. Which I guess is a good thing.

Bring miniyou with you  Quick, lift the 4runner!

Yeah for this trip probably do the main route due to campsites. Which is fine.

Seems there a ton of that stuff in general in Utah really haha so much stuff.

we just got a foot of beautiful powder today ontop of about 6''. I wish I was skiing. Its perfect snow.

HA! That's right..well hopfully it'll work. This time you'll be able to just meet us in Beef Basin so you'll come in at Indian creek and find us easily.

I'll probably head home on Friday or Saturday as well.

    Pussy.

Also how are you not rubbing like a bitch up front at full lock without spacers?

Yeah, I think they look really nice. From a spoke pattern and color perspective, I'd say I like them equally with the SCS.

I put these on just so we'd both have shiny wheels. Truck bling for our mall-ers. :luvya:

I have a little rubbing at full lock up front. I'm sure it'll be worse compressed. Going to have to see how it goes a bit on the next trip and then figure out where to move the resis. I think that once they are out of the way, I'll be OK. It is stock backspacing (basically) afterall.

I guess that could have been another solution. But then who'd have kept you company when the young guns sped away? :p

I thought those were 4th gen runner rims? So they are 1" more inset than stock? Have you flexed it out?

I think I read that they are 7" wide with a +15 mm offset. If this is so, they are the same dimensionally as the OEM TRD wheels for '01-'04s. About 4.5x" of backspacing.

If coolant was leaking you'd smell it and see it smoking out the exhaust most likely.

Why do you have to wait for that?

what? You have a heated garage.

    fuck you haha

And it is not an involved job. YOu just have to take the intake off. Like 15mins. Do the valve covers while you're at it

Well if it is and nothing major has happened. Its an easy fix. Just flush the engine as best you can of oil and coolant. Pull the heads and put in new gaskets.

You only really need to worry if a head warped.

    soooooo....

how many attemps did it take you to get the timing right and your "candid" look just right with this photo? :luvya:

    Im guessing 4 photos.

Any other takers? Taking all bets!

If it makes you feel better my daily has had a head gasket issue for the last 40,000 miles. I add maybe a quart of coolant every 5,000 miles when i change the oil. Has no rough idle when it's cold.

You know I thought the same too. but I had a cracked head that caused a wicked misfire whenever it was cold and had sat. Never once smoked never once smelled. But nevertheless the head was cracked in four spots.
