I'm running the 1.05 93 base tune. I need a hand-held in case I can't find 93 oct while traveling without my laptop and Tactrix. I got my hand-held today.

Good info gents. Sounds easy enough. I don't have any clunking but might change the trans fluid myself, at the 30K mile service. I've been doing oil changes every 5K miles so probably do the trans fluid early as well.

If you can do oil changes, you can definitely do the trans (and diffs too). I did both diffs and the trans at about 40k

Do yourself a favor and get one of these or something similar:

I did some quick research on octane boosters and Lucas was near the top. The top products (I don’t remember the brands) were very expensive. I trust Lucas products and the reviews I read, so I figure it’s cheap insurance “just in case”. Besides, if it’s on the web, it has to be true, right?

I really like their products too. I use their injector cleaner regularly in all my vehicles. Just curious how this stacked up. Good info

Here is what I basically did:
    1. removed the tranny fill plug and had a quart ready to go (you want to fill when the tranny is between the low/high temperature levels)
    2. followed the process in the Toyota document to put the truck in temperature detection mode
    3. Once the D shift indicator is illuminated (tranny at temp) with the engine running, remove the overflow plug, then add fluid until it starts coming out the overflow plug
    4. put the overflow plug back in, turn off the truck, replace the fill plug and you're done.

OK... I was going to patiently wait for 1.05 B .... but I was bored today and installed TechStream.... Now I'm thinking I should just flash the latest TSB...

so... Is there a good post that goes over the steps?? and does anyone have the latest CUW files...??(04b03)....

This post: 2016+ Toyota Tacoma V6 ECU Tuning Alpha Release

If you are using the 13.30.018 version I posted a while ago you are going to run into issues opening the CUW file. I realized today that the TS_loader.exe crack doesn't work for CUW updates.

    Download this: https://mega.nz/#!nYRhmAhB!YHbTpgEkhqIUlyWIvWyPIted13L5EFINYTuiguVsacI

....and follow the instructions in the key.txt file. Do not use the TS_loader.exe or shortcut you created if you followed my instructions.

So here is what happened to me. I did have mine checked by the dealer but apparently it was still slightly low enough to just cause the clunk as 1/2 qt fixed it. I tried this because it's odd that a lot of people don't have a clunk and some do so I really didn't think the tune was the issue. I work with a few guys who have newer tacoma's at work and none of them have the clunk. Just hope this fixes people who have the clunk issue.

    Thank you...

As far as I can see the T-0034-18 is the latest for me...

    Is that correct??

Playing with OBD Fusion and Kitbest OBD Scanner. Did a couple quick dashboards to monitor the Ovtune motor/trans. Fusion has logging capabilities but haven't tried it yet.

Any recommendations as when to reset learning values? Before Flashing or after Flashing/idling?

After you flash but before idling.

Sweet, I will give this a shot on the weekend.

Going to do that and we shall see if that fixes the issue. Any recommendations on ATF?

Finally got it updated to 04b04 so I can try the performance tune. I LOVE IT! I can see why many would not like the tip in, but as long as there isn't snow on the ground I'm keeping it as is. For a half second at every light I almost feel like I got my LS2 GTO back

So after flashing you don't even fire it up before clearing stored values to make sure it starts?

start it to make sure the flash was successful. then turn it off, clear the values. start and idle for 5-10 minutes.
