No rub. Maybe if stuffed, but it hasn't yet. And no spacers just stock sport wheels.

255/75 r17 on T4R OR rims. Just a few miles so far but doesn't seem to rub anywhere.

Is it really dangerous to put a 255/80/17 tire on a 9 inch rim? The website says "approved rim sizes 6.5-8.5". I want to move to a larger tire and I am sold on the falken wildpeaks, but if I go 285's i'm looking at CMC and a bunch of work. Currently running 265/70/17's.

The bead will come off more easily with the wide rim. It is probably safe but you might get that stretched look. IMHO 8" is max for 255 and 7" is ideal.

Shitty. I really don't want to have to sell my rims and go through that whole debacle. I am trying to go a size up from 265/80/17 and it's sounding like the only way is 285/70/17. But that is going to hit my MPG's, I liked the 255 idea better.

You can get SL 285 which are light. 9" is about perfect for 285.

    Downside is rubbing and trimming.

    (this will change)
I'm in. 235/85-16s on a 2010 TRD Sport (stock suspension; I have no details on these wheels though) -- There is a tiny bit of tire to mudflap mount contact on the front left when partially compressed (about 3") at full left lock -- mudflaps will be off soon enough!

These look great, thinking on going this route with my truck. I seen your previous post on mileage. I'm getting that same mileage on 245/75/16 studded winters currently, and I drive EASY.

They are a really good tire, but they do pull a little right and can be a little stiff if overinflated. I’m running 30 up front and 28 in the rear. Some say that they don’t reach their intended carcass profile until 35, but the chalk test says otherwise.

Good to know ! Are you still running stock gears? Any major power loss with these going from your Falkens?

Yep. Still on stock gears. Power loss is a tricky question... the truck has plenty of power, but the larger tires cause a ratio change that makes the shift points a little lower in the rpm range than desired. It’s really not a big deal. I mostly drive in SMode. S4 for in town and S5 if under 70 on the highway.

Okay! Good to know, I have a mostly flat commute, so I probably wouldn’t be bothered by the change at all. Thanks for the info !
