Received my bumper and installed it. I thought the bumper looked good when I first unpacked it. There was a couple small areas where the powder coating chipped off from something banging against it during shipping, but it’s not in a super visible area so not a big deal. I just touched it up a bit with some flat black paint to seal it.

Now the fit......:frusty:. I don’t think RCI has the production process nailed down yet because I think my bumper fits like crap. I tried everything and I still have a huge gap from the body and tail light. If this is how they intended it to fit then they should change the picture on their website because it’s misleading.

My bumper does not fit like stocklocker’s which has very little gap. My bumper fits more like how kystntrd’s fit with a lot of gap. I should have stayed clear after reading kystntrd’s nightmare post about his experience with this bumper, but I saw stocklocker’s post and thought they corrected the issue. I guess not!

I’m still debating if I’m going to try and resolve the huge gap issue by enlarging holes and trimming so I haven’t installed the lights yet. I guess for now it’s tolerable.

If I could have a do over I’d probably go with mobtown.

    Here are some photo’s.

Yeah, I would not be happy with that either. Have you looked at the TJM rear bumper? I'm leaning towards that one myself.

No, never heard of TJM, but it’s too late for me anyhow. I just dropped a good amount of $$ to get this stupid bumper (shipping alone was $470 to Hawaii), so I’m either going to live with the gaps or do more cutting to improve the fit.

@SK808 that's a bummer dude. Ther pics on there website are their prototype. I was expecting the same fit as well. Good luck getting any response or help from them. Unfortunately I had to modify mine for it to even fit on my truck.

Take some photos of the mounting bolts. Is there any play in them? I'd loosen them all up and use a floor jack under each side to shove it up as much as you can. If you're considering enlarging the holes, contact RCI before you make any modifications.

Ummmmm... yeah, f**k that. If I get the same result, that's going to be a deal breaker for me. I don't care if I have to drive this thing back to Colorado, that's unacceptable. Unfortunately, I'm headed out of town, do it will be at least 2 weeks before I know for sure.

Yeah, I tried that. There’s not enough play to lift it up evenly. I can take a photo of the mounting bolts, but it doesn’t look any different then the pic from stocklocker’s install. I even tried using the lower set of bolt holes and that was too high. I believe that’s for people with a body lifts.

I already had to cut back the hitch receiver about an inch because it was hitting my 285 spare that I have mounted in the stock location, so I don’t think it even matter’s at this point if I keep cutting. Besides seeing the response that kystntrd received from RCI when he had the same issue I’m not really expecting a different outcome.

So odd, mine doesn't have anywhere near that much gap. I hope RCI is able to chime in here... EDIT: and they did right above.

Your bumper looks awesome! Thank you so much for the business. The 1/4" mounting plates have many hole locations including some for body lifted vehicles. The gap almost looks like the bumper was mounted in the upper holes and needs to be raised to the body lifted holes. We are patiently awaiting his phone to get him taken care of. Thanks again!

I sent an email with pic’s a few minutes ago, but not of the mounting locations. I’ll get pics of the mounting locations later tonight when I get home from work. Thanks!

Great! Did you send them to Sales@rcioffroad.com? The underside mounting bracket is what we really need to look at. I will contact you as soon as they come through. We'll get you squared away.

I don’t have a body lift. I tried the lower holes and it’s too high. It was hitting my lights before the holes lined up. The driver’s side seems to have more adjustability than the passenger side.

Thank you for the clarification. Once I see the pictures of the mounting plates it will be much easier to find your solution. I'll call you and communicate with you through email and phone call. Those methods are preferred and monitored much more closely. We'll get you squared away soon.
