Glad you are okay! I would take the parts off the truck and go separate ways. Rebuilding that truck will be all fine and good....but it may cost you more than the insurance company check.

Airbags alone for our trucks can be anywhere from $400 to $800 depending on the area where you live/vendor/dealer. Keep in mind there are other parts that have to be replaced like sensors/seatbelt/pretensioners/spiral cable ect.

Also keep in mind the value your vehicle will decrease for having a salvage or rebuilt title.

Keep us posted! Wish you the best!

TLDR, but do you get to keep your camper, or does the insurance company keep it cause it was "bolted on"?

Its considered an aftermarket item and he can remove it. They may adjust the value of the truck accordingly.

I’ll buy the truck off you. Need everything for a project. You can keep the camper shell

I'm still waiting to hear back from them, but I can't part with that FlipPac.

I'll definitely replace, but in addition I'm considering buying the truck from them (if the price is right...). I wouldn't do it for re-sale value, just for keeps.

    Glad you're okay.

If you do decide to go 3rd Gen TRD OR w/6MT, use cars.com and set up your search to only show MTs. I did when I lived in Monterey and got TONS of hits. I drove to Oregon to buy one under MSRP. San Jose had a few that had below MSRP quotes from the internet sales reps as well.

    Thanks for the tip.

I'm in Canada these days and can't find any 3rd gen OR manual transmission with double cab. They're all access cab or sport double cab.

I'm getting the feeling Toyota didn't put many or any of these trucks up north.

That sucks. I'm glad you're OK and your truck did one of the most important things it was designed to do...protect you. I feel your pain...I had my 1 month old 2015 totaled, had the same truck again within the next month. This December someone pulled out in front of me and again...but this time a steel bumper kept it from being totaled, just cosmetic damage. My only advice is look long and hard, find what you want, and get another MT!

I’ve repaired cars far worse than this. Driver airbag comes off with bolts, and the passenger one would be a bit of fiddling, front end parts would be cheap from a scrap yard. I’d fix it, only if you’re doing it yourself. Otherwise it wouldn’t be worth it, but this is an easy save. Now roll overs with crushed roofs, they’re hard but not impossible
