I have a Super White Tacoma and I want black wheels. I have used plastidip in the past and when i have the salt and snow beating against it, it looks horrible. Looking for a glossy black rim.

    Paint these black?

Or get these black steel wheels?

I’d guess the black steel wheels may hold up better. Have always like the tough look of them as well.

I’d say paint the stocks. Probably won’t get much if you sell them anyways Use them as a dedicated winter set then buy some summers.

The black steel look good, tough.
Then in the winter I’d use your Oem wheels for some winter tires.

Not real familiar with that steel wheel. I see you have 17" stock. I do know of someone that bought a similar 16" steely that rubbed brake calipers.

Thank you all for your input. The black steel rims that I have in that picture are from Jegs. Is there a brand that you guys would recommend that sell good quality? Also do you know what width of the steel rim I need to go with?

A good friend has those steel wheels on a Jeep XJ. They seem to resist chipping as well as any painted wheel. They balanced well. They even LOOK good in person. If you can get your size and they don't rub, I'd be all over 'em. If Jegs will work with you, buy ONE and have it shipped. Check clearances, and order 3 or 4 MORE so you won't have to pay outlandish return shipping if they DON'T fit.

If you don't mind me asking how much did that cost? Did you do-it-yourself or have someone else do it?

Finish on mine turned to crap from life in salty Midwest. I sanded and primed mine and then finished them in bed liner. Holding up decent, easy to touch up. $25 of material.
