How many of you can recommend a dealer in the East bay that doesn’t give you a bunch of BS and hassle to get warranty work done? Downtown Berkeley Toyota is crooked AF. Last week my battery crapped out, this week my 3rd brake light is leaking. Taped it off for now but it stained my headliner and my local dealership denied warranty on both the battery and the leak. I’d hate to deal with them if something more urgent came up.

Did you try Albany Toyota? On east shore, by target.

I did. Pretty sure it’s run under the same management / owner...

Stay away from Fremont and Milpitas. Bad experiences from both of them. Will never return.

If it's warranty work, I say just use any of them. Its going down in the books as warranty, if something is hosed about the work they you know you have ground to stand on.

If not warranty - break out the FSM, hit up a MOD Day, call up some local TW peeps, ToyConnection in the SouthBay (https://www.yelp.com/biz/toy-connection-santa-clara) and there are other reputable vendors/service options.

I use Dublin. They are always fast. did my a/c warranty work in about 2 hrs. but it sounds like yours is more of a battle than a factory recall.

Dublin did my lower ball joints as part of the service campaign/recall. Nothing negative I can recall. If I was still on that side of the hill, I'd give them a shot again.

I wont go back to Fremont Toyota, though it was due to a dumbass service advisor and not the tech. I brought the truck in due to engine code about the o2 sensor. I approved them to investigate and diagnose. They called me the a couple of hours later and told me a mouse/rat chewed the wire. Work would be covered by insurance. Asked my buddy to take a look to verify on my behalf (asked them to show my buddy the proof it was chewed wires). He verified and told me. I had not talked to the service advisor since I told them my buddy was going to drop by. I go in the next day to pick up the truck so I can just bring it to my local shop to do the work since it was going to be an insurance claim. My advisor was off so a different guy brought me to the back ... they already tore down the top half of the engine. Essentially I was forced to have them do the work since, well, i couldnt exactly drive away and bring it to my preferred shop.

Their work was fine and I don't blame the tech at all but never trusting their service advisors for performing un-approved work.

Now that would just enrage me even more... They shouldn't have torn it down to begin the work of repairing 'mouse damage' without contacting you. I would have insisted they put it back together lol. Stuff like that is what causes a customer to never return.

For me, Fremont tried to tell me that the spark plugs and belts needed to be changed. That since I was going to do the belts, they wanted to do the timing belt because it was "due" and on he went. I kindly informed the 'advisor' that the timing belt along with everything else was done the week prior - including NEW BELTS. I asked him if he was sure the tech thought the belts looked like they needed to be replaced... He made a call and apparently the tech had been talking about 'another' Tacoma. Yeah, guess that timing belt sticker on my airbox showing the date/mileage it was done didn't really clue him in.

I've been going to Livermore for three years, always had good experiences. I even moved to Hayward, used them once (felt shady)... and drive all the way back to Livermore because of the good service.

I've had good luck at One Toyota by the OAK airport. I have a third party extended warranty and the service guy spent hours on the phone with them getting them to pay for most of my LCA replacement.

Hayward Toyota has been good to me except this one time I had to escalate a situation up the management chain due to the advisor changing my contact info to avoid a bad service survey. Never had any issues other than that one incident. My regular advisor is back from disability and it’s been all good since.

Mind PMing me his info as well? I've had pretty good experiences at Hayward, but I'd like to have a good advisor. The parts dept is also very good in my opinion.
