When I got mine it just says the CRASH DETECTION cannot activate at this time. Sensors for the lane travel and stuff still work.

 

Oh I love the black on your hood. I was getting pissed at the way it reflected off mine. Even without the scoop that sports have, its horrible. Glad you found a solution that’s both appealing and useful

My letters were shipped separate and came a few days later. It’s double sided tape for each letter. (Not OEM) and I added monster glue on the backside for over kill
Looked good to me!

All these on wish are basically the same. Also if there’s a problem “wish” is pretty good with refunding in a few days!

Removal is not very difficult but if you don’t want to break the old one go slow on the tabs. There’s a few YouTube videos showing easy steps


Also install was easy. It clicked right in...
Getting the old grill and bezel out sucked! I didn’t want to break it. Figure id keep it for spare parts.

Mine is a 2017. I have zero TSS bullshit! I know the one on wish doesn’t come with the garnish . As you can see in the photo below it’s got a spot for it.




Since mine doesn’t have it can’t tell you about where to get any parts you need.
Again my 17 sport was the last model to not have the beeping to notify you someone is on the side/front/behind you. I learned how to drive at Drivers Ed in school. Thanks government for trying to take over how we drive or react!

 

How long have you been running your grill? For the first 100 miles mine had an error, then the system adapted to the new obstruction in a slightly different place than stock off road grill. No problems since other than when the sensor is actually blocked. I don’t have garnish. My original grill also gave the sensor blocked message in snow/ice weather so no biggie to me.

 

You can buy the garnish off eBay for $23

Back in my day you actually had to wait for a used one to pop up to get a decent price on one.

For $90-$100 it’s well worth it!
Again mine is “PRE-TSS” so I took a closer look.
Again mine was bought on wish and I love it for $100. I got a $100 visa gift card for Christmas. I used that on some weekly bills and used my credit card to order the grill so if there was problems I could protest and get my refund.

Grill came packed nice and solid with foam protection. Also the letters were shipped separate probably to avoid Toyota copyright . The letters came in a box 3 days later with pre cut double sided tape. This tape holds the emblems on your truck such as Tacoma, 4x4, V6, etc. I used monster glue


on the backside where the plastic pieces joined together just for over kill. Washed it probably 20 times since installing and looks great. My wife still doesn’t understand the meaning of upgrading or “mods” she said it’s brand new and the grill looked fine. I am now rethinking marriage! Ahhhh... just Kidding.. if my wife is watching this thread.... ahhhh.. oh yeah, I love you more than my Tacoma!

 

Just ordered mine from wish ...never heard of wish...had to register....got 10 percent off for being a newbie...I have a 2019 with tss....is anyone ordering the garnish from somewhere else or going to try to get by without it...anyone know of a good deal on the garnish
