My only thought is depending on how the doors open putting the switch plate on the other side in the kitchen so you can hit the lights as soon as you walk in. Same in the living room. My grandparents house you had to close the doors before you could reach the lights. Drove me crazy.

It is, it is flooded there right now and suppose to rain 11 days out of the next 14 there too.
It will be nothing but mud everywhere there, not a fan of 3 days of mud.

all doors open "away" from the switches...if that's the correct terminology lol. so you can open the door a couple inches and reach your arm in and flip them.

I suggest moving the dining room light switch away from the disposer switch. The DR light switch should be in a more easily accessible location.

such as? that's been the most complicated one to locate to me. I don't want a switch in a column and on the island for that light feels weird.

I chose that spot with the disposal because the DR light will rarely be on, the large window beside it lets in a ton of light and the rest of the lights should light the area fairly well.

But I would never try and take a sale from a local guy in a different state trying to do things. Business is cutthroat but I also have morals

all you can do is answer questions and let customer decide the rest. I hate when small companies bash each others work.

I say small companies because I enjoy a lot of the samsung vs apple commercials. lol

You're going to hit the disposer switch instead of the DR light switch a lot - if not you, your guests. Reaching over a counter is not convenient for a light switch.

Were it me, I'd think about adding a 3-way for the DR by the front door (porch light). Put the second switch in a location convenient to the DR (3 or 4 feet up the wall, closer to the DR).

I'd move the pendant light switch to either next to the sink or to the island itself.

LR fan should be a double switch - light and fan control. Entry light should be its own switch.

Are the green circles your can lights? If so, you are going to have significant shadowing when you are working on the counters. The can lights should be located over the front edge of the countertop, not the middle of the walkways.

The above is my opinion, based on my experiences. How I do things might or might not be how you do things.

    YMMV

What is your counter top material?

If granite, I suggest halogen bulbs for the can lights. The halogen really bring out all the colors of the granite.

Funny how that works. I don't talk to any other vendors on here. But have become good friends with some of the largest bumper companies.

haha thank you for your opinions, I'll comment/answer the best I can to each line.

You're going to hit the disposer switch instead of the DR light switch a lot - if not you, your guests. Reaching over a counter is not convenient for a light switch.
I could possibly do two separate switches instead of in the same plate to prevent hitting one and not the other, but I was trying to minimize the amount of switch plates I have on the wall. I don't think reaching over the counter is a big deal, it's not like a 4 foot stretch lol

Were it me, I'd think about adding a 3-way for the DR by the front door (porch light). Put the second switch in a location convenient to the DR (3 or 4 feet up the wall, closer to the DR).
Putting the DR light by the front door seems weird to me because that's SO FAR AWAY. I would never want to turn the light on from that spot.

I'd move the pendant light switch to either next to the sink or to the island itself.
I mentioned to the contractor that the pendant light switch can be in the island cabinets, I like that option too.

LR fan should be a double switch - light and fan control. Entry light should be its own switch.
why should it be a double switch? the light/fan has pull cords on it to control each one, or I might even get one that has a remote. the switch only provides the power, then the cords/remote control the options.

Are the green circles your can lights? If so, you are going to have significant shadowing when you are working on the counters. The can lights should be located over the front edge of the countertop, not the middle of the walkways.
the green circles over the island are pendant lights. the other 5 circles in the kitchen are can lights. the can lights have a lot of throw and should not cast shadows since nothing will be blocking them.

yes, granite. will most likely be LED lights in everything.
