Agree about the ridiculous bumper with built-in bar. I guess $10K less than new, for the better looking 2nd-Gen ;) could be considered a decent deal.

Didn’t even see you were in Canada but I know you’re options are limited there .. that’s a bummer. How hard would it be to buy an American truck and register it there in the event you can’t find anything up north?

OME suspension, flippac, more to come...

I’m sitting in a dealer right now and have just confirmed that there are no 3rd gen, double cab, manual transmissions in Canada. They don’t even have the option to build one.

I really want to hold out for the off road.

I’ve found a beauty 2015 OR in the states, I’m looking into what it’ll take to bring it north now. I did it once before, but I was a US resident at the time, moving to Canada and bringing my vehicle.

Has anyone imported a vehicle lately?

Or and canucks have a double cab manual off road they’re looking to pass on to a good home ??

Post a location / post in that location forum. I’m sure someone will be willing to help you find a new rig!

Hm, I could blow my whole load on a TRD Pro — that’s the one way to get a double cab locking diff manual in Canada.

Ouch. Best wishes. Heard Wisconsin had a 130+ car pile up in the same storm I guess. Not that it make any of this any better ..

I wanted a 6 speed manual DCOR but I dont think its an option here in Canada. I couldnt dish out the cash for the Pro but Im happy I went manual Sport. No shifting issues and 4.30 gears help with bigger tires and low rpm engine power. “Helps”. I dont care about the touchscreen much so it doesnt bother me personally. I came from 8.4” in Chrysler which IMO is class leading. Bought it in the hopes it keeps the Toyota reliability name. Time will tell. Glad youre ok! I can keep my eyes open for west coast 2 gen if you like.

Sorry about the accident man, but really glad that you're okay. As others have mentioned, you've got several options, but one that I haven't heard anyone bring up is buying it back IF the engine, trans, frame, drive train, ect are all okay, then you're probably looking at a really sweet opportunity to turn this into a pure off-road rig. I'm not sure if you're into that sort of thing, but look at some of the rigs that are on the TV Show Truck Night in America. Some of those rigs are trailered to where ever they're wheeling. Huge tires, front and rear chops to make them fit, suspension/lift to tackle anything you could desire off-road. If that has any appeal to you, you could make your investments there vs. the new rig. You wouldn't have to worry about making it street legal since you wouldn't be driving it on the streets, the airbag issues may not moot point. Maybe you could make it a collective effort with a group of friends that are into that or they could buy it off of you. Another option would be talking to a shop about the same collaborative effort in that they do the work, they paint/advertise it the way they want, but you're active in the team effort somehow. If you don't do this, I'm sure someone else would buy it off of you and do it, but that could take some time to find the right buyer(s).

Regardless, don't make any rush decisions, weigh your options, consider the pros/cons, and go from there. Let us know what you do since we'll all be interested in the outcome. :)

    I hear ya..
    This winter’s been crazy.
Snow then rain then snow, repeat....Icing has been horrible.
We were at 0 F this morning and it’s supposed to rain this weekend.
I love winter and really don’t mind snow removal operations as I have my system down pretty good now.
I just want it to stay cold until Spring!!!

Yes. Maybe they need to push cattle, or homeless people off the road in Portland. But for me, I like the bumper without the bar.
