The Hellas have no glare cap, so I'd imagine it'd be blinding in the fogs... But I'm also curious.

Wouldn’t the 65w hella be way too hot to run in the fog housing? Or am I way off track?

Based on my testing, the Hella Osram Hypers are 3267k. The closest bulb I've found is the Volsa H11 +120s at 3277 which is nearly an exact match.

    48C7DA5D-9F2E-4A79-80FA-1016B058F93D.jpg

You can purchase the Volsas here:
    https://store.candlepower.com/voh111sbrli.html

Definitely do not want to do that in the stock fogs, the H9s do not have a glare cap and will cause horrible glare basically eliminating their cut offs and defeating their purpose as a fog light and blinding everyone ahead of you.

^This is the correct solution if you want to run the Hella H9s in the fogs.

You need to switch to the Subaru fogs, Subaru part numbers: 84501AL02B and 84501AL03B

    D69A7A86-A031-4941-82E8-DF34D23FF969.jpg

While running a far brighter H9, these produce less glare than stock. The pattern is much more forward facing though than the TRD wide angle fog units. You can see more info starting in post #392 here.

Okay, here's my stupid question for the week. I try to limit it to just one. o_O

Although there are two separate bulbs for the low beam and high beam, they can use the same bulb; i.e. a Hella H9?

From the factory, the low beams use H11 bulbs, and the high beams use H9.

The H9 bulb can be modified to fit in the low beam spot. As an alternative to to modifying the bulb, there appear to be wire harnesses that have H11 on one end and H9 on the other, so you don't have to modify the bulb.

Yes, they gain you about a 25% increase in output over stock. A modest improvement but not nearly as good as the GE +130s or using the Hella H9s in the lows.

Yes, they both can use an H9. Using the Hella H9s in the lows is covered in the 2nd post of the thread. You need to trim the internal tab on the bulb with a knife or make a small adapter harness to plug the H9 into the H11 socket.

Thanks guys! I didn't realize the highs were H9s.

Like I said the other day, I've read through the thread twice, but simply cannot absorb all of the information. I understood the ability to trim the H9 tab to fit the H11 harness. I just didn't think about the highs.

Again, thanks for all the information!

Hella H9’s x4 ordered and Vosla H11’s ordered. I already have the harness extensions so everything fits. Now we wait.

Make sure you aim them because they are significantly brighter than OEMs. You can check a video on YouTube on how to aim. I taped the wall in my garage (and it doubles down for a guide on how close I am to the wall based on where the beam hits in relation to the tape!).

After testing those bulbs, I did warn them that they will need to increase their product stock. Looks like they underestimated TacomaWorld demand.

Kind of funny...ordered the MEGA bulbs on Sunday and yesterday we had a door sticker to pick the package up at Walgreens of all places. A mile and a half from the house. I thought it was medication being shipped but NO....it was the sets of the megabulbs!

HOLY CRAP! WAY fast shipping from Powerbulbs in the UK so tomorrow I will be installing them!
