Diamondback Tonneau Cover Group Buy - Round 3

Got mine, installed already. Really was not a big deal. Couple of things I found to help
1)If you have a headlamp it is nice as I found it easy just to crawl in the bed to tighten the brackets/clamps.

2)For the lock rods, you are supposed to adjust them so they are close to but not touching the walls/rail. This way you dont bust the locks when you lock it. I found it best to loosen the set screw, pull the bars in a bit, lock the lock(this way it does nto turn as you pull on the rods), and then slide the locking rod in to place. They dont want you to force the lock closed and my rods needed to slide inward before locking it the first time. Locking the lock is the part I found important as otherwise when you pull on the rods the lock can turn meaning your adjustment will be off.

3)When you tighten the bracket that adjusts the height of the lock rod bracket you want to put some weight on the door. This way it compresses the gasket a bit. I found a kid with a ipad works well. well just move him/her around from corner to corner. to put a little weight on the cover as you tighten the bracket. This is especially true for the front, for the back you can kind of press down and tighten nuts at same time. Of course test the lock a few times to make you can still easily close it and dont have to push down too hard

Those of you residing in the great republic of Texas, I got my phone call for delivery tomorrow (Thursday)!

 

Just a quick update. I've had a few questions about tracking numbers showing the cover shipping, but nothing about the cross bins or tie downs. If you ordered multiple items on the same order, they're going to ship together under the same tracking number. I'm not sure why the email is showing just the cover shipped, but every order I have checked, shows it all together under the same tracking number.

 

This matches my experience. my ship email only shows the cover but I had my uninstalled cleats in the box.

 

When I recieved my info from RealTruck Monday, I called them Tuesday spoke to the rep, she gave me an update that my cover was already local. She also, gave me the phone number and info for SMT who was contracted to do the final delivery. Yesterday I scheduled for delivery today. Just received it. Throwing on right now.

Just an FYI: the cover was picked up in Philipsburg, Pa 2/25 made it to Dallas 2/26 and out for delivery 2/27. and delivered by 3:00pm and installed by 4:30pm very nice.

It looks like all of the shipments I've came across so far, have been with Ward. Our system doesn't always show this, so if you have a tracking number that says Ward, or is about 10 digits long, starting with 500, to pull up tracking you'll want to go to their site directly.

Got mine installed. Going to have to wait a different day to seal the bulkhead due to cold weather. Otherwise it's good!
