So what happens? Does he actually start the inspection process? If so, your truck should either pass, be given an R sticker or held because it's deemed unsafe. There's no gray area there. If one of those 3 didn't happen, he is already not sticking to regulation but yet wants to keep citing them to you as to why he can't inspect your truck. That shop clearly doesn't know what the F they're doing and you really need to find a new shop. Just my $0.02.

I guess that would explain why the last thing I had shipped through FedEx took a huge detour in the opposite direction of where I live. I did get it on time though. I worked for them for a week and quit.

 

so, i noticed my seatbelt was wet.
lots of rain and was parked outside at work all weekend.
stopped by the dealership to have them check it out as i need to have them check the airbag etc.
they installed the oem roof rack at purchase.
anyone experienced anything similar?

 

Only when it kinked so it couldn't retract and I've shut it in my door on a rainy evening

Yea I'm going to a new place. If he rejected me I could file an appeal and a state inspector would then determine if I should pass or not but I don't really want to go that route if I don't have to. He said he'd give me a rejection sticker if I wanted but I said I'd go somewhere else. The inspection station owner was really trying to be helpful so I don't blame him. The guy from the MA Motorist Assistance Center was totally unhelpful and told me to go somewhere else and see if they'll pass me. I was like really? that's the answer? I told him we can measure from the ground to the bottom of the door but you need to tell us what the stock numbers are so we can compare it to something otherwise literally no one could confirm if I'm legal or not.

 

What was the reason this time?

EDIT..so the same reason, he doesn't know what stock height is? WTF..I thought you had someone he could call about this lined up

 

It boils down to no one wanting to take responsibility.

The more ridiculous shit gets, this is what happens.

 

My truck ALMOST failed inspection for front plate being "Unreadable" except it's perfectly readable just has some flaking white paint...But the guy said to buy a new plate now because it takes 12 weeks to get a plate and the front plates get eaten alive by highway driving...so move the back plate to the front and put the new one on the back and get one more plate again when that starts to go..

It's $10 a plate to keep the same number or free to exchange for a random new plate...so of course I am paying the $10 because I don't want some new number...
The inspection guy was envious of my truck. He said it's exactly what he's been looking for and can't find...a 2nd gen manual 4 banger with less than 200K on it...he pointed to his non-toyota pickup with disgust

Yea the guy he called was not helpful and was kind of a dick. Seemed like he had all the answers until it came time to actually do anything.

 

Close to pulling the trigger on a RTT for 650. Somebody talk me out of this
