Ran for 20 years in the Army and hated it most of my career, not built for long distances at all (5'9 225lbs), however about 15 years in I really started to enjoy it and would run after work 4-5 times a week. Best 2 mile time I ever got on our APFT was a 11:45.

Now, my distance/speed is limited by how my back feels so only doing 15-20 miles at most.

    Used to lift at 530-6.
I’m PM now. I miss morning training though, especially not fighting people for racks.

I used to do the 5-6 pm as well but my work schedule is pretty unpredictable in the afternoons so I’ve switched to mornings for the past year or two.

It was rough in the beginning but now I’m used to it.

4 miles today and was tired but didn’t die or get light headed... so fucking curious about how far I can go but know you have to manage to make it back if you go too far and end up with jelly legs

When I was training for my marathon I had a simple 10 mile easy run on a 105 degree day. I was not feeling it that day and the heat just makes it suck balls even more.
I ran this really long trail usually, so to motivate myself I said I was going to do 5 miles out and back, not my usual 2.5 mile loops. I wanted to give myself no temptations to stop.

    Wrong fucking choice.
I walked 3 miles back after I couldn’t breathe anymore.

It's getting better. I realize I am just not a fan of salty food. I've been adding more salts when cooking and even soy sauce before or after as needed and while I am sure it's helping -it just tastes so salty (I mean that's the point I guess).

Arms are feeling better though! I also haven't trained biceps or forearms since that problem 2 week ago. Trying to give the body some rest where it's needed.

Curious how sodium loading works? I hear bodybuilders utilizing it but I don’t know much about it.

I know what you mean. You go so long not eating salty food and its not right when you start it again.
Glad to hear your arms are feeling better!
