Opening a case with Toyota does nothing if the dealer says it's normal. I was just told by a case worker, they rely on the servicing dealer to diagnose the issue and if the dealer says nothing is wrong then nothing is wrong.

Hmmm...maybe use your leverage point with the dealer survey (if you haven't answered already) and google/yelp type review sites. People take notice when someone takes the time to paint a true, rational, experience they are having negatively with a place; as opposed to a review that is a belligerent rant. You are likely to get contacted and taken more seriously that way. As sad as it is, these are the times we are living in. They care way more about survey scores and yelp stars than they do about helping you face to face, it's pandemic.

I too hope I’m golden. I’d be quite perturbed if it did.

I guess the vibration must be worse for other owners because mine is subtle and over in seconds.

I'm located in Laurel, MS. The dealership is right across from my office at the newspaper. I'm waiting to talk to Toyota. They called today and my phone never rang and went straight to voicemail. I immediately called back. The lady said the lady that called me had "just gone to lunch and would call back tomorrow.."

I apparently have the worst luck ever...I have all my receipts. I have video's of me driving other Tacoma's (a 2018), I have text messages saved from friends that have driven my truck to see what they feel, I have text messages between me and the dealership stating I have a problem with my truck. And I sent Toyota a formal "Final Notice Letter." Now I want to go to a dealership, attempt to trade in my vehicle and tell them of the problem and tell them "Toyota says its normal," and watch them either say sorry we won't take the trade or lessen the value of my truck, then my case falls into the Lemon Law that says I have a case if the problem from the factory effects the value of my truck. Let's just say I'm fully prepared.

Ok I think I've read the entire thread to now but maybe I missed it. Just wondering what a good suspension shop would have to say about the vibrations/steering wheel shake......

I’m no mechanic but when driving, I’m convinced it’s a transmission problem.

Ok, trying to visualize the transmission causing the steering wheel to shake.....

If it’s struggling to gear up on down at a certain gear it would cause vibrations that can be felt in the steering wheel. I’ve read when some have reset the transmissions adaptive software and the vibrations stops but came back several hundred miles later.

Call me skeptical but that sounds like me saying my tailgate is causing the wind noise on the drivers side window which started after I installed the vent visors.

A transmission issue like that would be felt more in the seating than causing the steering wheel to shake.
