Getting stoked mate, we’ve never organized this many St. Louis area people before as well as having folks from Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee linking up to wheel there is gonna be mad.

You have an inkling of an eta yet?

 

I plan to be there at the start on Thursday. I'll likely leave Wednesday and spend that night at Flag Pole Knob in VA on the way down. My path takes me directly down I-81 for the majority of the trip.

 

Evan says he’s opening the gate to the group site at 1500 and we intend to arrive beforehand to get the other stuff sorted before we go play Thursday night after setting camp.

 

Sounds like a plan sir.

I've had mine out of my truck and rebuilt them 3 times. Not sure what your referring to as sheered off, but if you have done a boot slide mod, you would have essentially rebuilt an axle seeing as you have the joint all the way off. Inner is no different. On my truck I can have one axle out and rebuilt and back in, in under an hour with out question. Any link to explain what your talking about? I'm genuinely curious!

 

To rebuild cv axles? Get the shafts and boots and bring them to me and I'll need a few beers as payment. But.... I'm not real close to you. If your refering to those pliers, about 40-50$ depending on who you source them from. Hammer, brass (or something soft like brass) drift, snap ring pliers and cv boot clamp pliers, I have less than 100$ in mine. They have paid for them selves over and over.


After reading the link Sacrifice posted below, it may not be as easy as I initially thought for your truck, but I have a chop saw and a press and I like to use them lol.

 

its the outer thats the issue. generally people reboot axles from the inner since it comes apart (at least i did).

 

Interesting... I have not done a 2nd gen, wonder if that is different than my first? Thanks for the link, I have now learned something for the day, today is now a success.

 

@Sacrifice so that what CVJ axles does ? I’m gonna order from them to save the trouble

 

cvj will sell you fully assembled axles. ready to put in and go. you just get charged for cores (you can return your stock length ones)
