I saw about a 10% drop on my stock canyon for the drive home (1300 miles). It went from the upper twenties to the mid twenties. Wind noise was noticeable but not bad. I think the canyon/colorado bed sides sit up a bit higher (1.5” I’ve been told) so it could affect it more. A deflector might help for any noise but I doubt it would help MPG.

Anyone out there with a prinsu/drifter that can speak to noise and mpg performance?

@jberry813 has a cut prinsu with his. 2nd gens have shorter bed sides so there’s not enough clearance between roof/drifter. 3rd gens are able (AFAIK) to retain the full rack. He has some small pelican cases on it do his wind noise may differ.

Thanks for the replies all. Noise isn't a major concern for me either, running Cooper STT PRO's I probably wouldn't here any difference either :) I can deal with a small MPG loss. Would be interested to here more about the deflector in the works Iggy or anyone using the Prinsu as well.

Regarding mpg. It's a little hard to tell how much it decreased. I went from full stock 3rd gen OR to Drifter, then slightly larger tires. But my 3rd gen seems really affected by winter blend gas. I'll lose 1-2 mpg just because of that.

All that said. On winter blend gas currently i was getting high 17's on stock tires, no lift doing 65mph highway runs to the mountains. Nothing conclusive yet with the slightly larger tires, besides the mpg headed further towards zero. I'm guessing high 16's. Hopefully summer gas bumps it back up into the 17s.

Really makes a Diesel GM twin look good.

Yeah, I have a buddy who complained about horrible mileage on the taco, I was getting way more then him and I am loaded to the gills. Come to find out, I drive 100kph regardless of the limits 120, and he typically drives 120+ in mountains.

Sadly It was at the moment I realized I was old.

Mines on the truck with a full prinsu non cut, ~2_2.5” lift, 34*10.5 r7 BFG ko2’s. The truck compared to what it was like with the cooper stt pro’s for noise is night and day. I can have a conversation in the truck using the Bluetooth. Also zero sound deadening although that may happen this summer.

It’s a truck I don’t expect it to be quiet, but those damn coopers were insanely loud and only got worse, fantastic hookup though in the dirt, but horrible longevity out of them. The ko2’s get me everywhere, although my next set this fall I may try km3’s out to see how they hold up.

I should do a test at 116mph (speed limiter) and see how good (bad) it is.

I'd be more interested to see if you could actually reach that speed. Especially if you have armor, tires, ect. Fastest I've seen someone with bells and whistles is 98 MPH with a supercharger :headbang: open playa, I think we all burned at least 1/4 tank in 12 miles

Do we go back in time if we hit that kind of speed? Did Iggy and Phil build in the flux capacitor?

Yup,I loved the tyres for off road, on road and anywhere else nope not a chance in hell. Mine also had some major wear issues on them, and is still the only tyres I have used to get as many flats as I did.

I've always run BFG KM2 or Swamper SSR's on my LR D90. Never had Coopers but wanted to try them. I have to say there just as loud or possibly louder than the SSR's. I'm a bit surprised by that. Might have to make a change down the road. I've never run a non MT tire here in NE but I might have to give a AT a shot.

    What did you say??? :)

Buy the way tacomgee LOVE that rear dual bumper. Looking to get the same but with an extra 2" hitch on the tire swing out for the MTB carrier. Have a msg into Brute Force / Billy and waiting for a reply.

    Check out the build
Drifter time travel is at 188. The materials of the camper absorb quantum energy and will open a portal into the space time continuum at critical speed.

i think i might need to do some testing later this year when I have my drifter (full steel armor, tires, s/c + upgraded pulley) ... for science of course. would I get a prize for high score, if I can even get it going that fast @Overlanerd @Iggy ?
