Had my CBI bed rack for the tent since last spring and got lots of use out of it with the tent and such... after many many km of back road adventures of gravel and sand, Rain and snow n all that crap, my boxes and gear quickly became COVERED in dust and I was constantly emptying my camp boxes to hose them down and clean them up after every trip...

The CBI bed rack utilized the ENTIRE side rail system, making it nearly impossible to use the channel for anything else, whatever the accessory, I think I may end up notching out the angle bracket to allow access to the channel around the mounting point, but for the time being I needed a cover of some sort...

After a bit of thought, I decided on the following...

    1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x1/4" Alum angle
    3/8" rivets x 36? i think haha
Turn Buttons x 4 (for the corners)

Cover material is 22Ga vinyl hybrid, same material used for the removable wall transport trailers, industrial tarps, etc. Its UV rated and Weatherproof
Cover was made at Calgary Tent and Awning, north of 200$, there is one snap thats about 1/8" off but they mentioned any issues to bring it back and they fix/build a new one to better specs, 3 yr manufacturer warranty on stitches n such. They made a template and i picked it up a few days later, HIGH quality job (aside from the one snap being 1/8" out of line)

Will be trimming the aluminum in spring for cleaner corners, less visual, and will be getting it painted at work.

All snaps are held in with 1/8" stainless rivets.

The front was done so I can put my bicycle fork mounts in without removing the tonneau bracket

IMG_4427.jpg The 3/8" snaps and the turn buttons...

I had 2 pockets at the front and the back installed underneath with a velcro strap in the center to put flat bar in under tension to help keep it from sagging, the rear one I cut a bit too short and once I snap the tailgate it tends to go down from but I'll swap it with the front one, when its a bit warmer.

I'll get some actual round bar bent to the arch radius and install it, so it holds the shape but not under so much tension.

All in all, with the aluminum, and snaps, and cover cost, im just north of 300$, which i think is great to keep eyes off my camp supplies, and anything else I have in there, keeping the snow out of my box, and most importantly keeping 90% of rain and dust n such off the items in the box.

All in all, VERY happy with the product and getting this issue resolved with that of owning the CBI bed rack.. hopefully this helps others...

If there's enough interest, I can put a build spec together for it for others to copy, no problem.

    Cheers!

Some time this year I'm looking at getting the CBI bed rack and I really like your tonneau cover idea. Any additional specs you could provide would be great.

You bet, ill have it off in the next week or so to get warranty work on it, the company made a template and took measurements of my layout, but didnt build it ON the mounts itself, so there was one or two snap like 1/8 out of place. Ill get some dimension in at that time
