How to: Acquire Pelfreybilt Goods as of 2/18/19

Does anybody know how the Pelfreybilt hi lift mounts work? It appears they do not mount to the bed rails, correct?

Looks like they get hard mounted to the actual bed. @honda50r East Tennessee, heading that way in March. Oliver Springs to be exact.

took a ton of weld grinding on the front only. backside stayed primered and satin black on the gussets. lasernut did sand it smooth but needed more finesse.
glad it didn't get the logo on the bumper. hate being a rolling billboard for a dead company.

 

Looks good! And totally agree with the rolling billboard, subtle logos are cool by me. It’s hilarious you have to pay places like Demello more to remove their logo from being front and center.

 

truck doesn't have stickers (only a tw one that peeled off) and almost completely debaged. Clean, lean and capable. can't wait to go play.

 

What I would like everyone to take away from these posts is for anyone thinking about picking up vintage PB from BAMF, the quality is excellent and I have been impressed by design and construction. Do it, tell Jerry to send it! I think most of the stuff is logo-free.

how did you clean up the logo?

 

tabletop belt sander. so useful. got it used from HD.

yea, i polished it a little with a dremel, didn't like it and went back to the 'brushed' finish. I did polish the inside of the fairlead as it had a small burr from milling.

 

i was thinking about grabbing one to replace the smittybilt one i have now...

 

Ok, what is everyone's opinion on how to remove the logo from these things? Maybe just cover it up, since it can't be sanded off?

 

yea, it was a decent deal at $25. it was pretty poorly qc'd with that burr considering it was cnc'd. that being said, would buy again. took about 30min to get it done.

 

pop rivet a small plate over it? use a cut up beer can or whatever flavor you want or color you like?
