My truck is barely a month old and some pricks decided to steal the tailgate last night. Truck was parked at the resistol arena in Mesquite between 7:30 and 9:30 Friday night.

There was a silver 09+ 4x4 (with a camera as well) two spots down, tailgate intact. Guess thieves prefer white!

Anyway, if anyone in the DFW catches wind of a mint super white tailgate....well, you know the drill.

We know the drill.....thought maybe you would of too. Sorry about the loss but easily preventable or in the least it would of sent them "down-the line". Get and take the necessary precautions with the new gate.

Yea, I know...$2 in parts could have saved me a deductible and a huge headache. Never thought it would happen to me, but as they say hindsight is 20/20.

I'm guessing a new tailgate painted with the camera will set me back more than my $500 deductible?

Check your local Craigslist for the next couple weeks and it will probably be for sale for around $350. Thats what they do in the SF Bay Area. Freaking losers still tail gates then sell them as "take offs", yeah right. I took my tailgate off and dont need it. WTF

Ouch Man....Try looking online first to see if anyone is selling it. You can get a used one with cam for under 500....If not, pay the 500 as new will be well over 1500 w/the cam

I got the hose clamps and cable wire clamp. never hurts to double it up!

Does toyota mark the tailgates with the vin anywhere? If one does turn up on cl or something, I could know for sure if it's mine and unleash the fury.

Why are Tacoma tailgates so popular? I noticed all of the "Anti-theft-Tailgate" measures on TacomaWorld. I'm a member on a GM forum and there are never any threads about tailgate theft. I guess I better put a hose clamp on the taco.
