The last driver tribute they did was the Senna piece back in 2010 on Top Gear. With a few car tributes in between. That was also very well done.

I don't disagree with that. But I think that the group has had much more artistic license over what they can say and do once they moved to Amazon as opposed to when they were with the BBC. I'm surprised they got away with a lot of the things that was said and done during their run with the BBC since the BBC is "pretty" straight laced compared to the relationship they have with Amazon. I think part of the reason they were able to get away with the things that they did at the BBC was Top Gear was the most watched show on a global market. That's not to say the Amazon producers of the show don't step in and say "we want this or that in the show". It probably happens. But I think the direction of the show now falls more on Clarkson, Hammond, and May's shoulders. If it works it works. If not... I kind of blame them a bit. That said... they have taken the criticism of the show and have listened to the public. This is one of the reasons we don't have "The American" driving anymore, or them killing off the celebrities. "Most" of the people hated those portions of the show (myself included) and both of which I think were good moves to get rid of. There have been growing pains with the show and some episodes are much better than others. But as long as Amazon is willing to continue to fund the show, I think they will find a formula that works and they will get to a place that almost every episode is a good one. These three guys didn't get to where they were without knowing that they have a special formula that works only between the three of them.

The new Top Gear has had many issues also. I couldn't watch the first "new" season with that fucking "chirpy" Chris Evans. And now Matt LeBlanc is leaving Top Gear also. I actually liked him on the show but I haven't watched the new Top Gear in forever. I just much prefer the original three. They are just irreplaceable in my opinion.

I think so? I know they did a few seasons and then Matt decided to leave because he didn't want to be away from his family (understandable). I haven't seen any new shows though. I didn't watch much of it though.

I guess they still are. I used to watch the originals all the time. Loved it with the original guys. It was ok with Matt. Guess BBC USA doesn't show it anymore

Yeah, when it was the original Top Gear I don't think I missed an episode ever. I watched it for years. Just finished up the latest one and it seems they have settled into a groove. I do miss the guests they used to have on all the time though.

I tried to watch and enjoy the first season after C,H & M left, but I just couldn't. The 40's Jeep vs Land Rover bit was amusing, but the rest of it...meh.
I haven't watched any of the episodes since then, though.

I will have to say this... Chris Harris lends a lot of credibility to that show. Dude is funny and can fucking drive. I watch his videos all the time.

One of the few highlights of the new Top Gear was him and Matt LeBlanc going back and forth
