Self tapping oil pan plug

    Hey everyone. Quick question. I’ve got a stripped oil pan plug and I want to yank it and use the existing pan. What size self tapping plug should I use and does anyone have any hints so I can bypass any headache? Thanks in advance.

    If you have to use a self tapping drain plug to correct a pan which already has damaged threads in place you will have a headache either now or later on, or both. That's just the way it will be.

    It’s just buggered. I actually have a new oil pan to put on but I have a larger engine issue I’m toying with and I want to get some clean oil in there and check my vvt and oct. it’s a fix that I only need to have last a week. Thanks for the prompt reply.

    Yeah man. I strongly suggest getting a new secondary oil pan. They should be cheap enough and since they dont take a gasket other than RTV it should be relatively easy to swap out.
