No I was two hours away when the fire hit our place. I drove my ass off to get there. Literally had nothing when we got back to the house. I can say from personal experience that gold melts, if it's to hot it disappears. Lost a few ounces of that and close to 64000 cash

I hope it’s a safe place that has anti theft provisions and is fire proof; like a bank...

You had $64,000 in cash laying around in your house? Mannnnn that is too bad. I feel weird keeping under $5,000 cash in my house... can’t imagine over $50k. I am no financial whiz, but might be a good idea to store some of your cash in some kind of fund/bank as well as some at home.

Had 42k in an account that was taken by the IRS on my 20th birthday. Half of it was an inheritance and the other was from me working since 15. My parents didn't pay taxes a few years and they took my money and I hadn't lived there since age 17. I won't ever trust government again. That's just how I am now.

Unless you want a certain job.

Then if it wasn’t before, it should be going forward. Credit reports say just as much about a person as a background check.

    Hardly.

I’m not sure how a persons credit status has anything to do with the industry I’m in or anything remotely close.

And then I know people who’s credit has been ruined by their parents or a nasty divorce or the housing crisis. All very capable of holding a job with integrity.

And on the other hand there are a lot of d-bags with good credit.

Nothing to do with industry. A lot to do with the person.

Nothing is perfect or clean, ever. I know guys that are fucking shitbags who are LEO. I know great people who couldn’t get hired on.

Credit reports and financial history tell a story that background tests can’t, and getting as much of that picture as possible when you’re dealing with life and death decisions is absolutely valid.

Some people's employers do run credit checks. Good credit tends to show less risky. That is a thing.

If you've ever been to any of my mod days, camping/wheeling trips, or meet & greets, you all know that I'm all about the TW community. With that being said, if you haven't marked off your calendars, come check out this big meet I'm putting together in Fremont on 4/27. Even if your truck is stock, come out and support your boy! Did I mention there will be a BEER FESTIVAL?

Yeah. We're almost out of it. Got about 4ft left in the yard. We should be able to pick up the car by around 7PM. Fingers crossed and that the power comes back on.

We chose not to evacuate. We never thought it was going to get as high as it did so there were some moments yesterday that we regretted our decision. All is good now though.
