And here's an older pic of how the awning swings out. It covers the side and back.

This is my dual swing out, with a secondary hitch on the passenger side swing out to put a bike rack on. main hitch is behind the license plate.

You won't find a lot of info regarding the tweak out there, most have no clue it is doing this, and get very protective as they spent a lot of money on something. Which is fair enough. Go look at a bunch of them dual and singles on peoples trucks and play with them if you can, open them with a full sized spare, dual jerry cans and see how they operate.

What brand is your swing out? Also do you know if it could be rigged up for Rotopax on the driver side instead of those cans?

yup it can be rigged up for anything on the drivers side. Sadly this is a custom bumper a one off, unless he decided to start producing more of them Company in Canada called Crusin Offroad. The swing outs are mounted on axle spindles, zero effort to open or close and uses hydraulic struts to facilitate opening when weighed down. Uses the standard clip that everyone uses, although I am looking for an alternative as i have been reading about a lot of these clips popping open? whether or not that is just an isolated case or two I have no idea, but good to have a replacement lined up if I need it.

A few more pics below of the bumper with the swing outs open it also shows how compact the bumper is. The bumper itself without swing outs weighs 20lbs or so more than the stock bumper.

I’m very curious to where I should be looking for these tweaked spots. Seriously though I’m only halfway trolling but also dead serious as to what I should be looking for. The ones claiming it tweaks the beds or frames where are you even seeing this?

open the single side swing out up close the tail gate and look at the gaps. That is how we noticed it on a few, then close the swingout. It is not on every one, and i’ve seen it on a few, and no there was no canopy on the truck. It also was more prevalent on the ones that opened up fully to the sides.

It’s just something to be aware that can happen, not on every single sided swingwout i’ve seen has this issue,

Did Eddy add the hi-lift mounts on the swingout or something you did? I have a similar setup on order.

I just used stainless bolts from Home Depot and drilled through the lower rail. I welded the license plate bracket there too; I didn't like having it blocking the hitch.

Eddy's awesome, he can do some custom work for a fee if you ask him. Can't hurt to check if your order is still being made.

He's already doing plenty of custom work on mine. I'm not sure how or if I want to mount a hi-lift yet...I'll see once I get it. Might just mount one back in the bed on the rails, like I had before I sold my last one.

Dual swing is what we have designed for our Hi Line. Single swing outs drop considerably when open and yes they put lots of stress on the spindle and frame. here is our RPMFAB setup with built in hitch and our new Latch system. These are on sale 15% off right now as well.

I see the 2nd Gen has spare on left side. Do you make a 3rd Gen with left side spare as well? Max size of spare?

We can reverse the arms but it was built on the right to help with the rear view camera use. With the tire on the left you may not be able to use the camera at all. We would say max 35'' tires before you start covering your taillights too much.

I have been wondering how I could make a swingout work with a bike rack...thanks for mentioning that! I was afraid that I would loose all access to the back of the truck with a swingout and bike rack. Nice set-up.
