Some chain and a sledge hammer. one end of the chain around the axle, the other around the handle of the sledge. Swing the sledge and pop out the axle.

Rotate the CV. Sometimes the circlip gets hung up and won't allow the CV to pop out. Rotate the CV a 1/8 turn at a time, and try popping it out on every turn until it comes right out.

The c clip needs to be in the right position (6 o clock? I always forget) for the axle to go in and out. Just rotate it and keep trying

Hello all . Sorry about leaving the thread hanging. I got the axle removed and replaced, but with a few problems. When trying to pry it out, the bar slipped and I took a hard fall, long story short I had a subdural hematoma (brain bleed). I had to have surgery to relieve the pressure. I was off work for 3 months and thank God, fully recovered. I was very Blessed. This accident showed me how fragile life truly is! Be Careful in all you do!

Make a loop on both ends wrap one up next behind the cv loop the other on a sledge and swing it.

Sometimes they pop out with pry bars using leverage.

The last 2016 I did I had to use a striker bar and hammer them out, but it needs to be a straight angle where the energy moves outwards.

I cut a piece of angle iron and tapped several holes, placed against the case and tightened the bolts until it popped out. I still do not know why it was so much trouble.

Holy shit! Glad you are ok, but yes the older I get the more I hear about stories of folks getting hurt and gets us to realize how fragile life really is. Hopefully you are still driving your taco and the CV axle got replaced!
