nasty dent on driver's side bed panel, shabby seats, cigarette burned interior roof, missing berf bar pad, cracked rain visor, removed hood scoop, unmentionable stain on back bench?
so it rained buckets this evening and early morning here in chiacgo. Making my way home became a 4 hour ordeal for what normally is a 45 minute trip. Cars stranded in high water everywhere, but I was confident, I have my trusty lifted taco:D

So at first i pushed a small jetta out from a viaduct, the cute girl was very gracious and even said to give her a call:D

then I did the same for a chevy malibu. The owner was a suspicious fellow though. Nevertheless he showed his appreciation by giving me what Ibelieve is an 8 ball of cocaine

so this brings me to my dilema: after traversing such water heights, much up to the sides of the quarter panel, my truck died out:mad::eek:

so I took the aftermarket intake cone off and gave it turn.

started up perfectly:D with some hesitation. but soon was cruising along as before.

but now my "check engine" light is on, what could cause this it's presently drying out in the garage.

tomorrow morning I will hook the obdII sensor up to it and see what it sez

until then anythign else I would need to check out?

    mt madman,
I called her and she is still interested

but my big concern is what happens when the truck was in high water like that to make it sputter out and shut off? Should there be anything else I should look at?

What did the OBDII reader say?? I would say if it just kinda sputtered out and would not turn over you'd have some real worries...or if it was making funny noises etc etc.

But at this point I'll bet it got choked out without ingesting water and just has some misfires in the computer...Clear them and no big deal...but that is just a guess- not factual info...so gotta keep collecting the info!!

ive done that to mine a few times. it may just be a electrical connection that got splashed and killed it. you probably just had a random miss fire.

I am dropping it off at a performance tuning shop on monday to have the URD 7th injector kit installed on monday. I'll have 'em check the oil while they're at it. Couldn't find the sensor, turns out my shitbum buddy whom borrowed it a year ago never returned it  . I drove it today though, no problems, but the "check engine light" is still on. But as was said in the opening post there may be a silver lining to this cloud :)

if you unplugged a sensor when you took the intake off and started it then it will set the light.
