I think this is my first post, I have been an avid reader in the group, but I haven't really participated. Anyway I bought my tacoma last August and I have really beat it up since then. Predator steps, mud flaps and rear bumper all didn't last long. First to go was a mud flap, the passenger predator step, and now about 2 months ago during the az archer deer season, I messed up my rear bumper. I was honestly semi excited when it happened because I have been wanting a HC rear bumper the entire time I've had the truck.IMG_9644.jpg

So because I have a limited amount of cash I have prioritized the rear bumper, sliders and skids in that order for now. Im hoping to get them all done this summer, then a lift and new tires this fall.

I think I am going to go with CBI's High Clearance bumper.

Are there any others I should look into? I am not sure what to think of C4, its a little more expensive from what I saw.

Weight? I am barely getting by with the stock lift/tires clearance. Will it weight so much that it will lower my suspension in the rear?

How solid is the bumper? I love the clearance, but are there points I could use with a hi lift jack?

Im planning on having them install it because I really don't want to mess up the body chop on my truck, plus I would love to have an excuse to visit eastern Idaho this spring to fly fish.

Anyone have experience with CBI? They seem like a really quality company to go with but before I make the purchase I need a push haha

It will be middle of summer by the time you get it, if you order that HC CBI bumper now.

    a lot
@RelentlessFabrication is another nice HC bumper.

Steel bumpers are around 125 pounds so you could put some weight like a person sitting on your tailgate to see how much squat you get.

CBI makes solid stuff. I have their steel bed bars, and the shit is solid and the welds are good. I haven't touched my bumpers yet, but they're on the short list when I do. There are lots of good manufacturers, though. Demello is another option if you're looking for something in the West (I'm guessing you're in AZ). Mobtown is on the East coast I think, but everyone says good things about them, too. Both have some kind of presence here on the forums, too.

Can anyone compare the quality of a brute force fab against the CBI?
